Rolling through the town of Dearborn, a city miles away from Detroit, the bus starts to break down. As the bus comes to a dead halt, Wolf lets out an exhausted sigh and slams his fists on the steering wheel. "Damn it! Two days on the road and we ran out of gas... great." He rolls his eyes, standing up and facing all of the passengers on the bus. "Alright everyone, we're all going to have to walk the rest of the day in less than three days. However, we aren't far, about a few hours, maybe, of walking... it won't be too bad." He says, sighing and walking off the bus.
Lucille, Lisa, and Mac are follow in suit, Lucille and Lisa in a quiet conversation whilst Mac walks up to Wolf to talk about directions. Caitlin, Jordan, Ari, Rosalia, and Wario are off next, each of them chattering about where they are. Ari squints, looking at a building, "Looks like tan buildings with broken windows and graffiti everywhere you go. Looks like Detroit to me." He chuckles, shaking his head and looking at the ground. Rosalia rolls her eyes and points to a sign saying, "Dearborn, w--- ---- ---". The group looks over, "We're in Dearborn, a city miles away from Detroit, however it's close. Maybe if you used your actor eyes, we could have established that next." Rosalia remarks, making Caitlin and Jordan giggle. "Whatever, I didn't need your immigrant input." He rebukes, Turning and walking away. Rosalia rolls her eyes, mentally wanting to choke him out.
Mona is off next, Max and Nash following her like baby ducks following their mother. Kendall, stepping off behind them with every step slower than the last, folds his arms. "Mona it's as if you gave birth to them.." He says, finally stepping off the bus as Kaden almost pushes him out of the way. Finally, Ray and Kori are next, Kori straying away and covering herself. She looks sickly, pale and bags under her eyes. However, she feels fine. She was bit, and in every zombie movie you are now infected, however she doesn't feel like she is dying, nor close to it. Hopefully the others won't notice and make assumptions...
Lucille gathers everyone around and smiles. "Well everyone, we have," she points to Wolf, "good and bad news. Good news is that there was a CEDA shelter here, however... it seems as if something happened." She points to the cloud of smoke in the sky. "Another one bites the dust..." Ray murmurs, rolling his eyes and sighing. Suddenly a loud noise rips by the group, everyone looking up to see two fighter jets, both releasing two cylindrical objects from the sky. Mac's eyes widen, and he turns to the group. "GET DOWN!" He yells, pushing Lisa and Lucille to the ground as the other get down to the ground. After a few seconds, a huge explosion can be heard. Some of the group screams during the impact, whilst others squeeze their eyes shut.
Mona opens her eyes after a few seconds, looking around then at the large, dark grey cloud of smoke rising to the heavens a few blocks down. "Guys, look! They seem to have bombed the CEDA shelter... but why?" The group stands up and looks in the direction of the smoke, which has now turned a charcoal black. Lisa shakes her head, "CEDA is fucking nuts bombing the shit out of a safe shelter!" She says angrily, picking up her metal bat and walks towards along the street towards the shelter. The group stands, silent and looking at the others. "... Here we go." Mona says, turning and jogging up to Lisa. Nash and Max are quick to follow, with everyone else in tow.
Walking along the street, they see new and old buildings, varying in size, color, and abandonment. There are a few straggling zombies along the street, stumbling towards the explosion. Mona pulls out a knife, stabbing one in the head. Lisa slams the bat into a zombie's leg, making it topple to the ground. She then arches back, then slams the bat into it's head, dead. Rosalia lets out a warrior's call, then slams her frying pan into a zombie's back. It falls forward onto the ground, wiggling around. Kaden walks up and swings his axe into the zombie's head, killing it. He looks to Rosalia and smiles, she smiles back. Nash and Max both team up and kill the last zombie on the street.
After the zombie slayage stops, everyone continues to walk down the road. The smell of smoke & death fill the air as they near the Dearborn Zoo. Caitlin points towards the Dearborn Zoo sign, unhinged from one end and dangling over the entrance. The sign has a red spray painted house with a plus symbol in the middle with an arrow pointed to the right. “This seems to be the CEDA place, however it doesn’t look in good condition…” Caitlin says, sighing as everyone walks forward.
The group walks through the entrance, noticeably seeing the destruction of the bomb. Enclosures obliterated, paths annihilated, and bodies burned to a crisp. The path of the explosion left residue of people & animals being vaporized. As the group moves around the outskirts of the explosion, moving figures & shadows can be seen. Zombies in a mile radius heard the bombing, and are making their way over to check things out. A big ‘ol man with a grueling, bubbly voice waddles over from behind the group towards Caitlin, Jordan, Ari, Rosalia, and Wario. Wario turns around to see the grotesque, decaying man spring forward, spewing a green slime onto Wario’s front, Ari’s back, and Caitlin’s right side.
Wario bellows, shooting the man who is still spewing. He explodes, slimy goo flying everywhere. More land on Wario and Ari, whilst the rest scatters around him. A loud collection of screams are heard, and zombies appear out of thin air running towards Wario, Ari, and Caitlin. The group pulls out their weapons, shooting & whacking zombies left and right. Mac rushes towards Caitlin and Jordan, firing off rounds at zombies before they reach them. Nash smashes a bat across a zombie’s head as Max stabs a zombie behind Nash. A zombie jumps onto Wolf’s back, and Wolf is able to throw him off and stomp on it’s head. Rosalia is fending off a zombie, the zombie pushes her back and punches her square in the jaw. Rosalia falls on the ground, skitting away from the zombie. Lisa runs over and kills the zombie with her bat, then helps Rosalia up. Lucille is shooting a zombie, however an aura of coughs are heard. She turns, only to see a tall man with large bubbles forming the left side of his body, a long, cylindrical tongue sticking out of his mouth. He steps forward, his tongue shooting out and wrapping itself around Lucille. She screams and she is knocked down & dragged towards the man. Mona turns around, shooting the man, the bubbles on him exploding & killing him. Lucille uses her pocket knife to cut the tongue and escaping the weird grasp. Mona helps her up and Lucille thanks her.
Everyone then continues killing zombies. Wario and Ari are starting to get stressed as more zombies try to get to them. Wolf goes to shoot one down but accidentally hits Ray who is going to help them in the leg and he falls. He screams, falling onto his back as zombies pounce on him. They start punching, kicking, and biting him. As more zombies pile on top, it seems futile to continue to help him. With one last blow, Ray is dead. The zombies get off, looking around and seeings more goo on Ari and Caitlin. They run towards them, and they start running along with the rest of the survivors. Kaden points towards a Safe House symbol pointing down a path towards a service building. Mona slows down a bit as Lucy & Kaden lead the way towards the building. Mona starts mowing down incoming zombies with her rifle as Ari and Caitlin desperately try to outrun them.
Caitlin starts to wipe off the goo, getting it off her clothes & hair. She isn’t paying attention, and looks up last second to narrowly avoid a trashcan. In result, she runs down a different path towards the medical building. Less and less zombies follow her as more goo is wiped off. The rest of the horde continues to follow Ari & the others. They turn a corner and see the pathway towards the service building being blocked off by debris from the explosion. Kaden points towards a different path leading towards the medical building. They follow, some taking a sharp turn down the pathway. Kori stumbles, falling down as the rest run by. “HELP!” She screams, standing back up and running again. Mac turns, “DUCK!” Kori looks at him, then at the horde pursuing her, then she falls. Mac stops, throwing a handheld device that starts beeping and emitting a red light. It claps against a zombie’s head, making it fall but the rest of them starting swarming around it. Mac helps Kori up and shields her as the device explodes, killing the horde and sending them all over the pathway.
Mac and Kori look at the destruction. Kori hugs him, thanking him and they start running to the group. The front entrance to the medical clinic is being broken into by the zombies who followed Caitlin. Mona shoots them all down, then opens the halfway-broken-into entrance, stepping in along with the others. “Caitlin?” Jordan says, turning on his flashlight and scanning around. The sound of things falling onto the floor is heard, and Jordan turns a corner to see Caitlin stabbing a zombie who tackled her in the head. She stands up, turning around and hugging Jordan.
Everyone cooperates and rests in the building. A few are drinking water, eating a snack, or talking with each other. Max, Nash, and Kaden walk over to Jordan and Caitlin. “What the hell was that thing that barfed on you guys?” Kaden said, folding his arms. Jordan shakes his head as Caitlin looks down. “Who knows, but one things for sure and that is that these shits are mutating.” Mona says, reloading her gun. “Agreed. I was attacked by some weird elongated tongue guy. He was mutated from the left side of his body. Something about this, “Green Flu” isn’t adding up.” Lucille inputs, shaking her head and writing something into a small journal.
“Let’s head to that Safe House, we’re almost there.” Wolf says, sitting up and walks towards and points down a hallway that shows a Safe House symbol. The group nods, followings in suite. The hallway has doors leading into different medical rooms filled with equipment to help animals. The caws of trapped birds & the shrieks of animals can still be heard, faintly drifting in the wind. This sends a chill down everyone’s spine, taking each step carefully.
Passing by one of the doorways, Max and Nash are behind Mona. Mac sees a shadow coming out of the doorway and they pass. He pulls out one of his pistols as a zombie springs out of the doorway, tackling Max and sending him, Nash to the ground. Nash reaches up, grabbing on the back of Mona’s foot and she falls as well. The zombie slams its fist onto Max’s leg, then bites it. Max howls in pain as Mac shoots the zombie. Nash pulls off the zombie, reeling back at the damage it did to Max. It was a simple bite; teeth marks puncturing the skins, no tearing of flesh.
The group gasps as Max stands up. They all looks at him like he’s crazy. “... Does this mean I’m going to die?” He says, stuttering his words and shaking. The group looks at each other, then Mac suddenly raises his pistol. “NO!” Lisa says, pushing Mac’s arm as he shoots. The bullet merely misses Max, placing itself into a painting near his head. “What are you doing! He’s infected now he was bit! That’s how all zombie movies go!” Ari yells, pointing at Max. “And in all zombie movies, there is somehow a cure, maybe even an immunity!” Lucille retorts, her and Lisa standing in front of Max but at a distance. “What if there isn’t?” He responds, folding his arms. Everyone looks to Lucille then to Max, “Then he’ll walk in front of us, leading the way. If he doesn’t show any symptoms of mutating or turning, then I’m right. If not…” Lucille says, drifting off but Wolf interrupts, “When the time comes, we’ll get to it. Let’s move out, Max in front.” He lowly says, pushing Max up to the front.
Everyone has their eyes on Max as they continue walking forward. Kori shivers, fixing her scarf’s position on her shoulder. She hasn’t shown any symptoms yet, however she hopes no one finds out of her predicament. She keeps her axe on high alert in case anyone touches it. She almost made Wario lose a finger on the bus.
Walking down this oddly long hallway, the group turns a corner and the Safe House symbol is plastered onto the exit doors. The group nods to Max, and he opens the door outside and steps out. They are outside the zoo and into the employee parking lot. Across the lot is a building with the Safe House symbol above a red, metal grated door. The group smiles and rushes across the lot, excitement filling the air as they can rest. Max gets there first, opening the door and letting everyone in. He shuts the door, everyone taking a sigh of relief. Wolf stands up, looking at the others, “This is just the beginning. Watch out and be careful, we still have a long ways to go over three days.” The group of survivors look at each other and nod, resting until the next time they move out.

What is going to happen to Kori & Max?: I'm slightly scared that someone like Mac or Ari will suddenly decide to take matters in their own hands and kill Max. Kori will most likely infect someone and then, the group will release they are slightly fucked.
How do you feel about Ray's death?: He wasn't a big part of the story, so not highly upset. Someone had to die first and it wasn't Nash.
What do you think about the Special Infected?: I love how you added this element to the story! Exquisite job, Tizian! It adds more possibilities.

How do you feel about Ray's death?: He was probably the most unmemorable out of all the survivors so um... yeah. Not too sad.
What do you think about the Special Infected?: It's bound to cause some interesting scenarios.

And by don't know how the zombies work, meaning we don't know if bites actually cause infection. I mean we're supposed to be immune from this virus and right now we're just saying it causes infection because "That's what happens in zombie movies". So I am keeping my hopes up.
