This season they were given the smallest portion of rice from any season ever. I recall from an interview Marissa on BvW said that her tribe ate about 1/4 a cup of rice per person a day. Sure they have coconuts & might eat a table spoon of fish every once and while but...
I don't understand how they can compete in these massive physical challenges and not pass out right away. Hell I was at work and didn't eat for 8 hours straight and felt like I was gonna faint. DON'T TELL ME THEIR BODIES ADJUST TO THEIR NEW DIET. I'D UNDERSTAND IF THEY STOOD AROUND ALL DAY DOING NOTHING, BUT SWIMMING IN THE OCEAN TO CATCH FOOD (SUPER EXHAUSTING), STRENGTH, PHYSICAL, WRESTLING CHALLENGES ALL INVOLVING TONS OF RUNNING & SWIMMING AND NO ONE SEEMS LIKE THEY'RE ABOUT TO FAINT OR LETHARGIC AT ALL?
ALSO I don't remember WHERE I read this and WHO said this (a contestant), but a few seasons ago they did give pizza to the contestants. I wanna say it was MvX after the storm?? If this is true I wonder how often this happens.
During this season Probst did an interview with Entertainment Network and said something about how producers are so upset when idols aren't found. Jeff will call over his walkie talkie all the time asking "any idols found yet?" and they will reply with a no and he's annoyed. So I can imagine them either hinting where the idol is to their fave contestant, or giving food to the contestants so they have energy to actually search for an idol instead of sitting around at camp all day.
Michael was apparently on the verge of passing out/fainting in the first challenge and had to be checked by medical. I'm sure the majority of those incidents are unaired, since it doesn't really impact the story most of the time.
I remember reading the thing about pizza too. It was a recent season. I wanna say Kaoh Rong but I'm not 100% sure.
But same. If I don't eat after a long ass time or skip a meal, I get light headed and can barely move if I don't eat all day. Adrenaline can kick in during challenges, but after a while they have to be on the verge of passing out. Your body does adapt, but it takes a few days, and already within the first 3, you'll go through a physically demanding immunity challenge, possibly a reward challenge/scavenge things off a boat/in a jungle, and vote someone out.
