I can't believe 5/6 died from that. It didn't look like it impacted the water hard at all.
edit: I think they drowned because they couldn't release themselves from their safety hook. WOW that's sad

Yeah I was just about to comment, they didn't die from the collision but the water. The pilot could've crashed into central perk but he chose to aim for the water to avoid more deaths - that's really thinking fast on his feet
anas the only survivor was the pilot himself
I feel like crashing into central park would've been smarter because actual injuries (albeit serious) are easier to treat than the damage to a person done by drowning
@Phillip13 the impact would've been worse on land and what if passberys or other people walking including children got hurt in the process? It could've even started a fire and death would've been avoidable in this scenario if the safety thing worked.
