#Oswordo3: Mad Tsai - Boy Bi
I can’t remember the last time I related to a singular lyric more than “I'm too gay for girls, too straight to be a drag queen” because jesus christ yeah I get that 100%. I think this is the 2nd Mad Tsai song that’s been sent in this season (were you the first one too?) and I really like what I’m hearing from this guy! He’s got a good voice, and this is a theme I can get behind. Good stuff!
#Spinfur: Wrabel - The Village
Hi so first off I’m pretty familiar with Wrabel’s music and I love what I’ve heard so far, but hadn’t heard this one yet. Holy hell, yeah this is hitting HARD. The subject matter of this song is… also pretty similar to why I will likely never be able to fully come out, why I don’t want my family knowing about my boyfriend until I’m far away from here. I don’t THINK they’re homophobic but I can’t trust them to be nonjudgemental/not gaslight me into going “back to women.” I knew it probably wasn’t gonna be all fun bops when I posted this theme but GODDAMN I was not prepared for this emotional gut punch. I’m only 2 songs in but this has a very real chance of topping the list.
#Txashaun: Sam Smith - Diamonds
Yes thank you I need a more upbeat song after that last one, although the lyrical content itself DEFINITELY isn’t “fun” in any capacity. I don’t know why Sam Smith ever wasted their time making slow dirges when all they needed was a solid groove behind them. This is a fantastic song. “Cool, take whatever you feel you need and go fuck yourself, see if I care” is a wonderful sentiment which sounds effortlessly cool, and the music is smooth as hell. I love it.
#Booyahhayoob: Lady Gaga - Born This Way
A pretty safe pick, but for good reason. This is probably the ultimate pride anthem, although god the music itself behind those lyrics is weird. I get that it was the early 2010s and this kind of music was popular although it has aged so strangely. That’s not why we’re here though, we’re here because this is a goddamn BOP. Lady Gaga was a bit ahead of her time with this content, we could ABSOLUTELY use a big song like this nowadays, although it’s good that we already have one. “I’m beautiful in my way, cause God makes no mistakes” is a line I wish more “Christians” would take to heart instead of all their goddamn hate. But oh well. This song bangs hard and I love it, not much else to say.
#Austino15fffan: Kim Petras - Heart To Break
So funny story, I actually got into Kim Petras through an org challenge where a music video had to be made to “Icy” and I’ve enjoyed her music since! This is a bop, although it did feel a bit repetitive in some places. Still, that didn’t detract too much from my overall enjoyment, because yeah this was pretty damn good!
#LaCroix: Culture Club - Karma Chameleon
This song is pretty good! It’s not one I’ve ever really actively sought out, but I do enjoy it whenever it comes on! The karma chameleon sure does come and go, and lately it’s been pretty royally fucking me, lol. I don’t have a lot of thoughts, though I do enjoy the harmonica, not a lot of songs use that anymore and it’s a nice touch!
#Samsam: Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl
This is your pick for a pride song? This is not a pride song, this is a tease. She makes it pretty explicitly clear in the lyrics that she is straight and is just “testing it out” but feels absolutely nothing for the kiss itself. Katy feels so juvenile and doesn’t seem to comprehend the subject matter at all. The bridge is probably the closest this comes to actually meaning anything, only to then handwave away any actual LGBT implications with a “ain’t no big deal” because, again, it means absolutely nothing to her. This is a straight person who kissed a girl once while drunk, or accidentally bumped into a girl like that one episode of Naruto with him and Sasuke, and then went around bragging about “oh my god, I’m SUCH a lesbian, I kissed a girl this one time omg teehee” then goes home and has straight sex with her boyfriend.

Hi so uh… Please forgive me, but I really don’t want to talk about this one all that much. I can’t say much here without dredging up some painful memories and shit I don't want to think about or discuss. All I’m gonna say is that it’s probably gonna be high, because I like it, but not up top, because those 4 words (you know the ones) do taint the message a little bit.
#Zeptis: Kim Petras - Coconuts
1-800 into Coconuts, break my neck with this tonal whiplash harder why don’t yall? Lol. Anyway, more Kim Petras! This is fun. A short little burst of fun energy which is also making me rethink my sexuality. I am writing this right before I walk out the door to work and goddammit I know exactly what I’m gonna have stuck in my head for the entire 40 minute drive, or I’ll just end up playing this on repeat the whole time. I like this a lot!
#UsernameThatWasFree: Adam Lambert - If I Had You
Ok so, I LOVE Adam Lambert! He absolutely should have won his season of Idol, literally who cares about the guy that ended up winning that season over him? Meanwhile he’s fronting QUEEN now, like goddamn. But anyway, this is a pretty great pop track that’s just pretty fun. I love his voice, I love his delivery, this is a pretty solid pick for this theme!
#MrRobzilla: Taylor Swift - You Need To Calm Down
Alright, I’m gonna try and tread lightly here. On one hand, it’s really cool that Taylor made a song for the gays. A very large part of her super loyal fanbase falls under the LGBT community umbrella, so it’s nice hearing she loves us back. On the other hand… I feel like if you’re gonna go for a message like what she goes for in this song, there’s more tactful ways to do it. This is yet another song that is mostly about her haters, 2 of the 3 verses are talking about her haters while the other third is trying to conflate active hate groups to that same level, just some annoying Twitter followers talking shit. And I’m not sure that’s the best approach? Her heart is clearly in the right place but I just think this could have been done a lot better.
#Lucas_RFS: Gloria Gaynor - I Am What I Am
How have I never heard this before? I don’t really know what to say about this one, honestly. This song just makes me feel warm and happy to be alive in a timeline where Gloria Gaynor exists. The production behind this is fantastic, it’s got the fun of the 80s while carrying behind it a message of self love, acceptance, and hope that I think we all could use right about now.

Oh hell yeah, I love me some Kacey Musgraves. I mean, who wouldn’t? Country needs more artists like her and less boring dudes who write the same songs about how badly they wanna fuck some woman over and over. It goes without saying that I love this song, this was the song that got me into her music. “When the straight and narrow gets a little too straight” is such a GOOD LYRIC. And I just love the way this sounds, too. Hell yeah.

I swear I’ve heard her name before and it’s really bothering me because I have no clue from what or from where. Did she have some sort of big hit years ago or featured on something? Idk. ANYWAY. I can absolutely see the appeal to this, but something about it just isn’t clicking for me. The music behind her is nice, and she’s got a good voice. Maybe it’s just the kinda weak lyrics? Idk.
Now, this is where I would be announcing the bottom 2 and the face-off, but with someone not having submitted for a couple rounds + during the face-off and not responding to any messages, it's clear they've checked out of this game. It's very unfortunate but today we will be saying goodbye to #Vixens.
