I just watched a 2014 Documentary on Amazon Prime called "That Sugar Film" that illustrated the detrimental effects and how much sugar we eat hidden in foods every day. Physically and mentally, it is reeeeeeeeaaaaally bad (particularly Fructose). I highly recommend this documentary!
I don't think I'll be able to cut it out entirely, but I'm going to do the best I can to eliminate it from my diet (and definitely not eat foods that have more than 5 grams of it).
Kindred7 fruits like apples are like the perfect amount of sugar (as the film explained), because they also have fiber (so it's like, after 2 apples, you're full), unlike fruit juice, which is JUST the bad, sugary part of fruits. So yeah I'm not cutting out fruits or being super nit-picky, mainly processed sugars <33 but YES, i admittedly did have two fudgepops before I started the documentary so I think tomorrow will be my official start too... hahaha
Teddybear yay I mean you probably already have a great bod so you don't need to do this for your appearance, but health-wise you're completely right. I think there might be a few days where we feel like crap / have huge cravings (depending on how much sugar we normally consume), but i'm sure after a week or two it'll get easier
Kindred7 Hahahaha thank you <3 LOL yeah I'm not too concerned with weight/not a fan of diets anyway (I mean if I lost a few pounds that'd be cool but it's not a diet), but like.. apparently, according to the documentary evidence, it can help with my skin and my mood and just general health, which is why I want to try it <3 omg for real, I'm excited for you to do it with me? :D
If you're interested in learning about how to most effectively change your diet, I would read up a little bit on cell biology. Something that really helped to exemplify how every food is broken down into sugar anyways is an experiment my 7th grace science teacher showed us. Where we all got 2 saltine crackers, one to give us a snack, and the other one we were instructed to chew on for as long as possible, and after the cracker had basically turned into liquid, (Gross, I know) it started to taste really sweet like Sugar.
In my opinion, cell biology has been an amazing baseline knowledge for anything related to life. Whether I'm deciding what to eat, taking care of my pets, or taking care of my own wounds. Its crazy how much cell biology has changed my outlook on life.
