SURVIVOR: THIRD TIMES THE CHARM Episode 8

imagePREVIOUSLY ON SURVIVOR: Spencer was finally not in control for the first time this season, and he was upset. He talked to Peih-Gee, hoping that he still had her vote. She did, but also knew that it would be an uphill battle. Spencer wanted to be mad at Eliza, but also knew that he was desperate to get her number back. Eliza was happy to flip, as was Francesca, as they now had power in the tribe. Stephen, David, and Rob celebrated pulling off the blindside and getting Gervase out. “I walked into a dominant power alliance,” Rob said, “and I am so happy for it.” At the Nobag tribe, tensions were high between Russell Swan and some of the ladies on his tribe. Russell saw that he was on the outs and went searching for an idol. Hali and Shii Ann laughed, knowing they had the idols for their tribe. As much as they needed to get Russell out as the obvious next boot, Danielle was thinking a step ahead and knew that she needed to start thinking long-term. Danielle didn’t trust Courtney entirely from her time on Heroes vs. Villains, and hadn’t really talked much since hitting the beach here. She talked to Shii Ann, Brenda, and Hali about teaming up for a final four alliance. Brenda was down, as was Hali, but Shii Ann didn’t know how she felt about leaving Michaela and Courtney on the outs. “I do like Courtney and Michaela a lot, and I just don’t know why Danielle is scrambling this early when Russell is the obvious next boot,” she said. At the challenge, the two tribes had to assemble a giant cube puzzle using enormous, heavy cubes. Both tribes were having difficulty with their cubes, but Nobag got an early start thanks to Michaela, Russell, and Danielle. Spencer and Rob were disappointed in the girls’ contribution for their tribe, as they feel behind and Nobag won immunity. Back at camp, Rob told Stephen and David that they couldn’t go after Spencer. “He’s the strongest guy we have, we need him,” Rob said, “So I say we go for Peih-Gee.” David and Stephen were fine with this, and awaited confirmation from Francesca and Eliza. Francesca went to suggest voting out Spencer, but the guys immediately shot it down, telling her that he was strong and needed in challenges. Francesca told Eliza this, and Eliza didn’t like how the boys were basing it off of strength, and that they weren’t letting them have any say. Eliza said, “I just want to feel like an equal in this game.” At this point, Peih-Gee walked up and said “Listen, I know it’s probably either me or Spencer, but if you all want to talk, I’d love to hear your thoughts.” Francesca immediately told Peih-Gee that she was willing to hear her out. Peih-Gee, Francesca, and Eliza got to talking and realized that Rob, David, and Stephen were a tight trio. “If we break up that trio,” Eliza said, “then they are powerless.” Peih-Gee wondered who should go. Francesca said that Stephen was the glue holding David and Rob together. Right before tribal, Spencer was worried he’d have to play one of his two idols, but Peih-Gee assured him that he might not be in trouble. Spencer didn’t know who to believe, but also wanted to keep his second idol a complete secret. “If I play both idols for me and Peih-Gee,” Spencer said, “we get out a huge threat, but we waste two huge safeties. But if I don’t play EITHER idol, one of us could very well go home, and I’d feel even dumber.” At tribal council, Stephen said that Spencer carried the weight for the tribe, and he didn’t want to see Spencer go. Peih-Gee said she was worried she’d be going home, and Rob said that it was always going to be tough as the tribes got closer. Before the vote, Spencer looked at Peih-Gee and Peih-Gee gave him a reassuring smile. Spencer didn’t play any idols. The first three votes were for Peih-Gee, which caused Spencer to get nervous, as he could’ve negated those votes. The next two votes were for Fishbach. The last two votes, from Francesca and Eliza came in for…Fishbach. David and Rob sat stunned as Stephen laughed his way to get his torch snuffed. “Good play ladies,” Stephen said. Peih-Gee grabbed Francesca and Eliza’s hands and thanked them. Spencer breathed a sigh of relief as he was safe and didn’t have to play any idols. “I owe you one,” he mouthed to Peih-Gee. Rob and David knew they were now on the outs, and David knew that he may not even have Rob’s loyalty much longer.
