PREVIOUSLY ON SURVIVOR: The new tribes were divided, and immediately, Russell Swan realized he was the only guy on a tribe with girls. “I was already on the outs,” Russell said, “but now, I really feel on the outs.” At the Nobag tribe, Michaela and Courtney celebrated being together on the same tribe. Hali and Shii Ann immediately linked up with Michaela and Courtney, who also roped in Danielle and Brenda. “The six of us can run this whole thing,” Hali said, “as long as we win challenges and get rid of Russell if we lose.” Danielle and Brenda were happy, as they had been waiting to get rid of Russell. Hali had Shii Ann distract the girls while she went into the woods to search for an idol, assuming there was another one hidden. Sure enough, she found her second idol and jumped for joy, later showing Shii Ann. “We have two of these babies,” Hali said, handing Shii Ann the other idol. “As long as we have these, we are protected.” On the other beach, Dangrayne, Spencer had the same idea, wanting to hold onto a second idol. Sure enough, he was able to find his second idol too, but he kept it hidden from everyone else. “With two idols,” Spencer said, “there is no reason I should lose this game.” Peih-Gee was upset to be on the same tribe as Rob, and immediately told Spencer that she wanted to work with him, as she had on Cambodia. Spencer shook on it, and he, Peih-Gee, Eliza, and Gervase created a four person alliance. Eliza, however, wasn’t really interested in working with Gervase. “Gervase annoyed me on the old tribe, and to still be with him,” she said, “I just can’t wrap my head around working with him.” Eliza knew she was already in an alliance with Spencer, but also wanted to do what was best for her. “I can see that David and Stephen are tight, and we know Rob and Stephen are going to link up,” Eliza said. “I don’t want to be on the opposite side of that.” Rob and Stephen linked up, happy to be reunited after their podcasting days. David was a tad jealous of Rob, but knew that more numbers the better. Eliza talked to Stephen about joining up with him, and he was elated, knowing that this could turn the tide. “Right now,” Stephen said, “it would appear to be 4 vs. 4, but with Eliza joining us, that gives us a 5-3 advantage over Spencer, Gervase, and Peih-Gee.” At the immunity challenge, the tribes had to battle in an obstacle course. Russell Swan was trying to lead his tribe, but Danielle seemed to take the reins and led Nobag to an early lead. Dangrayne struggled when David, Gervase, Peih-Gee, and Francesca fell behind. Even Rob and Spencer, who were the most well-suited for the challenge, had trouble with some of the obstacles. Nobag won, pulling an upset, and Russell was happy, knowing he’d probably be eliminated if they lost. Dangrayne was headed to tribal. Back at their beach, Spencer, Gervase, Peih-Gee, and Eliza decided that the best move was to try and sway Francesca. “We know David and Stephen are tight, and Rob has probably linked up with Stephen,” Spencer said, “So we have to get Francesca on our side.” Peih-Gee wanted desperately to target Rob, but Spencer felt like Stephen was the person in the middle holding them together, and they should go for him first. Eliza, however, approached Francesca. “Spencer is trying to recruit you,” she told Fran, “but I’m the one who’s flipping to your side.” Francesca was happy, seeing as how she was being looked at as the swing vote. Sure enough, Spencer approached Francesca, and told him the plan to blindside Stephen, to which Fran acted and nodded along. Rob told Stephen and David that Peih-Gee should go home, but Eliza intervened, saying that Gervase going home would make the tribe much more harmonious. Rob disagreed, but Eliza was set on getting rid of Gervase. “To be honest,” David said, “I think securing Eliza’s number is more important than sending home Peih-Gee.” Stephen agreed, and Rob decided that David was probably right. At tribal council, when asked who was worried to be sent home, nobody raised their hands. This made Gervase laugh, as he was sure they had swayed Francesca to their side. Rob said that Peih-Gee being on his tribe was not the most exciting sight, but things had been pretty harmonious since the last tribal. Peih-Gee said she had no ill-will against Rob, and the game was the game. With a generally quiet tribal, it was time to vote. Spencer, Gervase, and Peih-Gee voted for Stephen, in an attempt to split up the trio of David-Stephen-Rob. David, Stephen, and Rob voted out Gervase, to appease Eliza and secure her as an ally. Eliza also voted Gervase, much to his surprise. The last vote was Francesca’s, and while Spencer thought she had flipped over to their side, she stuck with David and Stephen and voted out Gervase, sending him home. Gervase was shocked, and Spencer realized that he should’ve played one of his idols. “I am flabbergasted,” Gervase said, as he moped his way out of tribal council. Spencer and Peih-Gee realized they were now on the bottom of the tribe.
