SURVIVOR: WINNERS AT COMBAT Episode 12

Jul 9, 2020 by SurvivorGames
imagePREVIOUSLY ON SURVIVOR: Chris arrived at Extinction, pissed that he wasted his idol on Jenna. “If I had played my idol for myself, I’d still be here,” Underwood said, “I got fooled.” Tina, Earl, and JT celebrated the move back at camp. Tina knew that this was her biggest move of the season thus far, but also knew that she had to get right back to idol hunting. “If Chris played the idol on Jenna, then there’s another idol out there.” Tina already had two, but wanted a third just to show off to the jury. Tina was able to find a clue on the back of the water well saying that the idol was at the challenge under a platform in the ocean. Vecepia and Natalie saw that Tina’s plan had masterfully worked, seeing as how an idol was flushed and Chris went home, and knew that they couldn’t beat her. “We need to get Jenna on our side now,” Natalie said. “That’s the only way we beat the three of them.” Vecepia had a bond with Earl, but agreed that Tina, Earl, and JT were all too close. Earl talked to Vecepia to make sure they were still good, and Vecepia said that she felt like Tina had too much control. Earl wasn’t sure what to do with this info, knowing it was too early to go to Tina and tell her in case Vecepia won immunity. At the immunity challenge, the challenge involved contestants swimming to a platform to study a pattern, then come back and replicate the pattern with their puzzle pieces. First to correctly get their pattern would win. Vecepia knew she wasn’t the best swimmer, and would have to really study the pattern hard, whereas JT trusted his swimming abilities, and wanted to just be as fast as possible back at forth. Tina had a different quota, finding the idol hidden under the platform. As the contestants started, JT was first to the platform and was already swimming away when Earl, Tina, and Jenna arrived. Tina was able to see the idol, but too many people were around her. Natalie was next, while Earl and Jenna swam away. Vecepia shortly after. Vecepia stayed to study the pattern hard, and Tina stayed, also studying the pattern, but keeping a close eye on the idol. Tina kept thinking that she needed Vecepia to leave so she could snag the idol. JT, Earl, and Jenna had all tried the pattern and were incorrect, and had to go back. Vecepia finally left the platform, and Tina snagged the idol before JT got to the platform for his second go. Tina now had three idols in the game. Vecepia made it to the final station, and was able to completely replicate the pattern, winning the challenge. “Pays off to take extra time observing,” Vecepia said. Back at camp, Earl told Tina and JT that Vecepia was originally planning to target Tina, and that they would need to vote for Natalie, her closest ally. JT was in charge of talking to Jenna. Tina, meanwhile, asked Vecepia if that was the truth, and Vecepia said that she had to throw out options in case Jenna won, but would happily vote for Jenna. JT told Jenna to vote with him, Earl, and Tina for Natalie. “They’re gonna tell you to vote Tina, but you can’t believe them,” JT told Jenna. Vecepia talked with Natalie and told her that Earl spoiled the plans. “Now, I want Earl gone,” Vecepia said. Vecepia and Natalie pulled over Jenna to pitch their plan. “You want Tina?” Jenna asked. “No,” Vecepia said, “now I think we should go with Earl because he and JT are just too big a threat to win these final immunities, and I think JT can be more easily swung our way.” Jenna knew she was now the swing vote, and had to decide between Earl or Natalie. “I think Earl is a bigger threat, but I do think it’s better in the long run to stay with the majority,” Jenna said, “I’m just surprised I’m not the target.” Tina asked JT if he thought Jenna would be with them. “I think she’ll vote with us,” JT said. Tina wasn’t sure if she wanted to play one of her three idols, or save them considering an Edge returnee was coming, and she still had another tribal after this to use it. “If I hold on to all three, then that guarantees myself, Earl, and JT a spot in the final four, but if all three of the others vote for us, then we may be screwed ,” Tina said. At tribal council, Earl said he felt good about his position in the tribe. Vecepia said that loose lips would sink most ships, and she just hoped that the right person would go home. Jenna said that she felt like she had gone from the bottom to the swing position, and had more control than she thought. Before the votes were read, Tina decided to play one of her three idols. “I just wanna make sure it’s not me, because I know that’s what Vecepia originally planned,” she said, playing one of her idols for herself. She held onto the other two. First vote went to…Earl. Second vote…Earl. Tina felt sick to her stomach, knowing she should have played the idol for Earl instead. The next three votes were for Natalie, surprising Natalie, who expected to see Jenna’s name. The last vote was Jenna’s, and would determine whether or not it was a tie vote or Natalie would be going home. The person voted out…Natalie. Natalie and Vecepia hugged, and Earl breathed a sigh of relief. Tina was happy knowing she still had two more idols in her pocket, and hoped that she’d be able to play them wisely next time. Natalie made her way to the Edge, leaving her teammate Vecepia in an alliance of her own. Natalie was the first female winner voted out of Winners at Combat.
