SURVIVOR: WINNERS AT COMBAT Episode 4

May 30, 2020 by SurvivorGames
imagePREVIOUSLY ON SURVIVOR: Hatch arrived at the Edge of Extinction, and Bob welcome him with open arms. “I think both Bob and I are good at the survival aspect,” Hatch said, “so I’m excited to spend time with him.” Hatch and Bob bonded over Hatch’s relationship with Rudy, and felt like he saw a lot of emotion overcoming him since this was the first time playing Survivor without him. At the Mariano tribe, Fabio and Tommy celebrated the big move. Tom was upset, and told Vecepia and Natalie that this was already the toughest season for him yet. Fabio knew he had to go explore for another idol, and took off for the jungle. While Vecepia stayed with Tom, Natalie sprinted off to go find one herself. “I may be taking a trick out of Russell Hantz’s book right now,” Natalie said. Natalie saw a red string on a coconut by the beach, and ran toward it, finding an idol inside the coconut. Natalie was ecstatic, knowing this could give her some serious leverage in the game. At the Vlachos tribe, Jenna and Todd sensed Cochran spending more time with Chris Underwood, and when they went for a walk, Todd looked through Underwood’s bag. Sure enough, Todd saw the idol. “I bet Cochran knows,” Todd told Jenna. Jenna was nervous, seeing that her and Todd were definitely on the outs. Cochran and Underwood talked, and Cochran said that he was 100% with Underwood, Mike, and Aras, wanting to go four strong to the end. “Originally I entertained working with Jenna and Todd,” Cochran said in a confessional, “being a fellow underdog, but I do think working with the three stronger guys will give me much better shields going forward. Plus, I helped Chris find the idol, which means he has ultimate trust with me.” At the Lacina tribe, Chris was getting a bit annoyed with Brian taking larger portions of food. “I think Brian is a good competitor, but he doesn’t have much respect,” Chris said. Brian, on the other hand, was annoyed that Chris was a bit lazy and didn’t really help around camp. At the immunity challenge, it was announced that only one tribe would win immunity. This was an eating challenge, and Fabio knew he didn’t want to lose or he could surely be out. Jenna sat out for the Vlachos tribe. The first matchup was Vecepia vs. Tina vs. Cochran. Cochran finished first and got 2 points, while Tina finished second with 1 point. 0-1-2, in favor of Vlachos. Next was Fabio, hoping to make up time, against Chris and Aras. Fabio was quick to finish first, gaining two points, with Aras getting the next point for finishing before Chris. 2-1-3. Tommy was up next against J.T. and Todd. Todd struggled, while Tommy finished first, and J.T. shortly behind. 4-2-3. Next was Natalie against Brian and Chris Underwood. Natalie was worried she wouldn’t be able to beat these strong guys. Brian finished first, and Chris surprisingly wasn’t able to finish his, as Natalie finished with a point. 5-4-3. Lastly was Tom Westman, Earl, and Mike Holloway. First to finish was Mike, with Tom shortly behind, and Earl shortly behind that in a near photo finish. Mike’s two points brought his tribe total to 5, while Tom’s 1 point brought his tribe to 6, giving them the win. The Mariano tribe celebrated. Back at the Lacina camp, Brian and Chris were clearly going after each other. J.T., Tina, and Earl met up to decide who to send home. “Chris is going to be a more loyal number,” Tina said, but Earl felt like Brian was more useful in a challenge. At tribal council, Brian said that Chris didn’t pull his weight, while Chris argued that Brian was hogging rice earlier. J.T. said that the tribe would vote for the person that would create the most peace for the tribe. After the vote, Brian voted Chris, while Chris voted for Brian. Everyone else voted out Brian, sending him to the edge. Brian was shocked, but knew he was going to come back to seek revenge later in the game. At the Vlachos beach, Jenna and Todd knew they were on the outs. Underwood, Mike, and Aras met up to discuss. “Cochran is with us, 100%,” Chris told them, and continued with “Todd is much more dangerous than Jenna.” “I agree,” Mike said. Todd decided to talk to Aras, in hopes of turning the alliance against itself. “Here’s the thing,” Todd said, “Cochran was originally with us, and now he’s with Chris, and he even helped Chris find an idol.” Aras didn’t believe it at first, but Todd told him that he went through his bag. “Underwood and Cochran are closer than anyone else here, and if you’re the final four, I think they’re going to be much more loyal to each other than they will to you,” Todd said. Aras told Mike this, and Mike wasn’t sure now whether to split up Cochran and Underwood, or stick with the Todd plan. “I believe Todd,” Aras said, “but do I trust Todd more than Cochran or Chris?” Cochran asked Chris if he was okay, and Chris assured him that the vote was for Todd. Jenna and Todd hoped that they would be able to flip Mike and Aras. At tribal council, Aras said that it was clear that himself, Chris, and Mike were vital for challenges. Cochran said that he wasn’t truly worried, as he proved in the challenge that he could compete just as much as the others. Todd said he was definitely worried, but hoped that luck would be on his side. After the vote, Todd put his head in his hands. The first two votes were for Todd, from Cochran and Chris. Cochran received two votes, from Todd and Jenna, which surprised Cochran. The next two votes, from Aras and Mike, ended up going for….Cochran. Cochran was surprised, saying “wow, you guys blindsided me.” Chris was upset, and looked at Mike and Aras, and Aras said, “why didn’t you tell us about the idol?” Chris shrugged, not having an explanation. “Guess we shouldn’t have kept it hidden,” Chris told Cochran, as Cochran left tribal council. Underwood was mad, and ready for revenge. Mike and Aras knew they had made the right move, splitting up this secret duo, and securing trust with Todd and Jenna. Cochran chose to go to the edge, hoping that he would have another shot to return.
