PREVIOUSLY ON SURVIVOR: Back at camp, tensions were extremely high. Gavin was annoyed at Chris for leaking the plan to blindside Brendan. Brendan and Chris were annoyed at Ronnie for forcing the tie. And Ronnie was annoyed at Chris for giving him a hard time. Angela sat back, watching everything go down. Angela and Brendan talked on the beach, and Angela told him that Gavin, Chris, and Ronnie were all going to take each other out. Brendan told Angela, “at this point, I’d love a Ghost Island final two, and I think we’re the only two who are really showing their true colors and staying clam and collected through this.” Angela was happy that Brendan was offering her this final two. “Here’s the thing that concerns me,” Angela said. “I just don’t know if I trust you and Chris being so close.” Brendan knew this was a worry, and told Angela that it would be hard to cut ties with Chris, and would want to go after Ronnie or Gavin first. Angela talked to Ronnie and told him that she may be able to get Brendan on their side, but Ronnie didn’t know if he trusted Brendan, and wanted Brendan out. Angela was getting annoyed, knowing that this group of five was incredibly fractured. Gavin talked to Angela as well, telling her that he felt like Chris was the biggest threat. “The way Chris manipulated us into thinking he would flip on Brendan,” Gavin said, “I’m definitely worried about him.” At the immunity challenge, the final five all wanted to secure their spots forward, and the challenge involved rolling a ball down an alley and knocking down pins, almost like bowling. The amount of pins they knocked down was the amount of darts they got to throw at a dart board. Whoever hit closest to the bullseye won. Angela bowled first, and only knocked down 3 pins. Brendan and Chris knocked down 7. Gavin knocked down 5, and Ronnie knocked down all 10. Ronnie got to shoot all his ten darts first, his closest landing a few inches from the bullseye. Gavin couldn’t get closer, and neither could Chris. Brendan was able to hit the bullseye. Angela tried, and hit the bullseye as well. Brendan and Angela went into sudden death, and Brendan missed the board completely, Angela nailing the board and earning immunity. Back at camp, Ronnie talked to Angela saying that he still wanted Brendan out, while Gavin told Angela he wanted Chris out. Brendan talked to Chris, and Chris still wanted to get Gavin, whereas Brendan told Angela he was open ended. “Here’s the deal,” Angela said, “Ronnie is going for you, Gavin is going for Chris, and Chris is going for Gavin. How do I know which path is best for me?” Brendan said that he really wanted Angela on his side, since he felt like she was playing the game most honorably. “If you really want my trust,” Angela said, “I need to know that you won’t take Chris to the end.” Brendan struggled with this, not knowing if he wanted to cut Chris this early. Brendan knew that he would have an easier time beating Angela, who he thought was a noble competitor, but he also knew that he had been loyal to Chris the whole game. At tribal council, Brendan said that he definitely was going to test loyalties tonight. Angela said that everybody was mad at each other, and hopefully this tribal would finally set things in stone. After the votes, Brendan knew somebody was going to be upset. Ronnie voted for Brendan, Gavin voted for Chris, and Chris voted for Gavin. In the end, Brendan couldn’t turn on his friend Chris, and voted for Ronnie, still knowing how the votes would lie. Angela, however, had the deciding vote, and still voted for Chris, sealing Chris’ fate. Brendan knew that he could keep his word with Chris and not vote for him, while still pledging allegiance to Angela by not forcing a tie. Chris was upset, but wished Brendan luck on the way out. Gavin was happy that Chris was gone, and knew Brendan was the only obstacle in his way, while Angela now felt solid having both Brendan and Ronnie on her side.
