PREVIOUSLY ON SURVIVOR: At camp, Jamie apologized to John, and the two agreed to work together going forward. Ronnie hoped that the tribe would be more at peace going forward. The next morning, the Ostrich tribe was quick to start looking for idols, with Jamie and John trekking into the jungle together, Tijuana and Ronnie searching the beach, and Chris and Lucy checking around the water well. Devon laughed, knowing that nobody was going to find anything. Seeing as how there were no advantages, Devon talked to Brendan and Gavin and told them, to which the three of them agreed to an alliance going forward. “We’re three nice guys who deserve to go far in this game,” Brendan said, “so I’m looking forward to it.” At the Tigers tribe, Devens was working on his more personal relationships, and tried to go fishing with Jeff, Ken S, and Tyler. Tyler commented that the guys were having a tough time trusting Devens, as he was such a big threat, and he could tell that Devens was just digging his grave a little deeper. Kenny Hoang, on the other hand, rather than trying to kiss up to the guys, went to T-Bird, Jill, Angela, and Michelle. “I would love to work with you, I don’t fit in with the big guys,” Kenny said, “and I think they’re tight out there.” Michelle knew that taking Kenny along was in their best interests. “Why not have a fifth number that we can easily take out once we get to final five?” Michelle told T-Bird and Jill. T-Bird was worried about Kenny’s reputation. At the immunity challenge, the tribes had to transport giant building blocks across a maze, then assembling them as a giant puzzle. The Ostriches started strong out of the gate, with John and Jamie leading the charge. On the Tigers side, Angela and Willard were struggling to keep up, while Jeff and Ken S tried to lead the tribe. In an abysmal finish, the Ostriches dominated the final stacking, and the Tigers were headed to tribal. Back at camp, Jeff and Ken S talked, debating whether or not it would be wise to go after Devens right away, or take out somebody weaker like Willard or Angela. Tyler walked up to them and told them that since there was no advantages or twists this season, tribe swaps probably wouldn’t happen, so getting out Angela was their best bet. Tyler told Rick that he was okay, and Rick shook his hand, trusting him. Angela knew she was in a bit of danger, and talked to her alliance, all of which agreed to have her back. Angela went to Devens to see if he’d be willing to be a number for her against Willard, who was the weakest of Jeff, Tyler, Ken S, and Willard. Devens told Angela that he already felt on thin ice, and had to stick with the numbers. “It’s probably you tonight,” Devens told Angela. Angela didn’t know why Devens would tell her to her face, and told her alliance that Devens blatantly told her it was her. “Let’s go after Devens then,” Michelle said. Michelle talked to Kenny about voting out Devens. “I feel like Devens is a big threat that we should keep around,” Kenny said. “If you want to prove your loyalty,” Michelle said, “you should vote Devens tonight.” Kenny said that he didn’t like being blackmailed, but at the same time, knew that this would show loyalty, and he wouldn’t be able to dominate the game strategically unless he had some loyal numbers first. At tribal council, Jeff said that the tribe dynamics were interesting, having a big threat like Devens out there, but also having weaker tribemates like Angela and Willard. Angela said that she knew she was weaker member of her tribe, but wanted to prove herself, as she had lots of fight to give. Willard said that he wasn’t sure where he stood with the tribe, but he trusted the group. After the vote, the four girls voted for Devens, while Jeff, Willard, Ken S, Devens, and Tyler voted for Angela. It was 5-4, and down to Kenny Hoang to decide the vote. Kenny voted for…Devens. This made it a tie, 5-5. Jeff looked at Ken S, not wanting to go to rocks. On the revote, Devens hoped that Kenny, his original ally, would be willing to flip. Instead, it was Ken S and Jeff who flipped on Devens, sending Devens packing in the revote. Devens wished there were idols on the season but knew his threat level took him out.
