SURVIVOR: RIVALS Cast Announcement

The time is here to announce the ten duos of rivals that are competing on this season of Survivor. These people have been through thick and thin, battle after battle, and now we’re seeing them go toe to toe one more time. Remember, there’s going to be redemption island this season, which could twist the game and cause some rivals to meet toe to toe. Here they are, with a bit of background on each.

*ARAS BASKAUSKAS vs. TERRY DEITZ (Survivor: Panama)*
Aras and Terry may be friends in real life by now, but on the island, they were certainly at ends. There was clearly competition, especially in the physical sense, as Terry was a challenge beast and Aras was scrappier, younger and liked to dig at Terry given the opportunity. “Somebody call a whalmbulance.” Aras may have won the first time, and it’ll be interesting to see who comes out on top this time around.

*PHILLIP SHEPPARD vs. FRANCESCA HOGI (Survivor: Redemption Island & Survivor: Caramoan)*
Phillip and Francesca have a rivalry that has spanned across two episodes…and coincidentally two seasons. Francesca has always been at odds with Phillip, and has been taken out first both times. But given the opportunity to redo some things and have one last go, will she be able to triumph this time?

*ROB MARIANO vs. RUSSELL HANTZ (Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains & Survivor: Redemption Island)*
Another long lasting rivalry, that still seems to be a bit existent ever since Russell lost early in Redemption Island and has continued to talk about Rob’s subpar gameplay on Youtube videos. They’re two legends of the game, but Russell has never won. Rob has played a bunch, but a rivals season wouldn’t feel complete without them. It’ll be interesting to see how they do with two other Redemption Island castaways, Phillip and Francesca.

*NAONKA MIXON vs. FABIO BIRZA (Survivor: Nicaragua)*
A lesser remembered season, but easily two of the more memorable faces were eventual winner Fabio and villain Na’Onka. Na’Onka spoke her mind freely, and she and Fabio never got on the same page. Na’Onka quit and might have some unfinished business this time around. We shall see.

*MARGARET BOBONICH vs. JUDD SERGEANT (Survivor: Guatemala)*
Perhaps a lesser known rivalry, but a big impact on that season. Margaret was a really helpful member of the tribe, but she went a little too far in her help, pissing off Judd in the meantime. As a larger than life character, Judd seemed to tick people off too, especially when he flipped on the alliance, causing a massive outburst at tribal council between the two. It was great to see and will be exciting this time around too.

*RC SAINT-AMOUR vs. ABI MARIA GOMES (Survivor: Philippines)*
While RC was voted off at the merge, it was still a lasting impact and huge rivalry. The two never saw eye to eye, RC the more quiet one, Abi the more vocal one. It became so bad that RC didn’t even want to be on Cambodia because there was a possibility Abi would be there. It’ll be interesting to see if they can duke it out, or maybe settle differences.

*ALISON RAYBOULD vs. ANGELINA KEELEY (Survivor: David vs. Goliath)*
Two Goliaths that seemed okay a bit early on, and Angelina’s tribal council antics got to Alison occasionally, and caused some confrontations throughout. It all ended in a big move where Angelina got Alison to play a fake idol, leading her to believe that it could have been used as an embarrassment tactic, which eventual winner Nick backed up. The feud wasn’t as explosive as others, but still caused lots of tension in the season.

*DOMENICK ABBATE vs. CHRIS NOBLE (Survivor: Ghost Island)*
Domenick is a dominant presence, but his big hurdle was Chris Noble, who got out at the merge. The two were both trying to be leaders and butted heads a bunch. Chris had an idol as ammunition but didn’t play it, and let his over-confidence get the best of him. It should be interesting to see how the two have learned from Ghost Island and if their rivalry stays or crumbles.

*SUGAR KIPER vs. CORINNE KAPLAN (Survivor: Gabon)*
Survivor: Gabon may have been full of lots of colorful characters, but one of the biggest confrontations was Corinne’s jury speech to Sugar, in which Sugar responded with a simple middle finger. It’s safe to say their bond will never be the same, and now they get to test it out on the island.

*COLBY DONALDSON vs. JERRI MANTHEY (Survivor: The Australian Outback, Survivor: All-Stars, Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains)*
The largest spanning rivalry in Survivor history. An amazing feud between two of the shows’ most classic characters. There’s no way they couldn’t be included. It’ll be great to see them work together or divide further apart.
