SURVIVOR: OLD SCHOOL VS. NEW SCHOOL Finale Part 4 (Reunion Show)

Mar 31, 2020 by SurvivorGames
imagePREVIOUSLY ON SURVIVOR: The jury got to speak to Jenna and Alec. Earl was first, and commended Jenna on being the only winner to make it to the end. “How were your moves more impressive than Alec’s?” Jenna said that she had to play the middle because if she came out as too big a threat, she’d be taken out. Which is why Earl, Richard, and Natalie were all taken out when they were instead of her. Reem was next and asked Alec why he betrayed her. Alec said that Reem was such an amazing player, and because she made the huge move on Earl, he couldn’t have her in the game any longer as she was a threat if she made it to the end. Reem respected the answer. Dan was next and applauded Alec, saying that he was impressive finding idols and asked Jenna what she did that topped winning idols? Jenna said that she didn’t need idols because she was never the primary target, and the one time she was in danger, she battled her way back with fire against someone who was one of the wisest thinkers in the game. Vecepia was next and praised her girl Jenna, asking “If it was down to me and Natalie, who would you have taken to the final?” Jenna said she would’ve taken Natalie because Natalie had betrayed allies like Richard, and Vecepia had side friendships with Yau and Earl that was too threatening. “Honesty is the best policy,” Vecepia said, respecting Jenna’s answer. Richard was next and asked Alec and Jenna how they merged both new and old school gameplay? Jenna said that her Old School gameplay came from coasting and floating for a while, and her New School gameplay came in the end when she had to flip as a swing vote and make tough decisions like voting for Courtney, then Richard in the same tribal. Alec said that his New School game was obvious, with lots of idols and social strategizing. He did say that he played an Old School game because he never betrayed his alliance with Dan and Michael, and his Tres Chicos alliance stayed in tact till the very end. Yau-Man was next and said that he didn’t respect how Alec talked to him when he went home, and Alec immediately apologized saying “I wasn’t meaning to sound rude, I just look up to you immensely and wanted to see you really fight for your spot, but I respect the way you played and just felt like I had to be flashy in every aspect to earn a jury’s respect,” Alec said. Yau accepted the apology, and called him a real man. Natalie was next and said her vote should be obvious, but she was proud of both of them for staying true to themselves. Courtney was next and asked Jenna why she played a cowardly game. “I wasn’t being cowardly, I just went where the numbers suited me best,” Jenna responded. Courtney felt like Jenna was fake, and that putting herself against Michael and Alec was suicide in this game because they ran circles around her. “I may not have won fire, but you should’ve taken the chance,” Courtney said, which Jenna responded “I felt like you didn’t fight hard enough for it, and I really don’t think you could’ve beat either of the boys in fire anyway.” Courtney shrugged once again. Michael was last and asked Jenna why she sent him home over Alec. “I was fully wanting to go to the end with you because I felt like Alec did outplay you…but Alec said something that I disrespected. He said you rode his coattails. And I figured I could use that against him in the end, as saying something like that contradicts his entire game.” Alec interjected, but Jenna fought back saying “you said it, and you can’t deny it.” Alec said that he never thought Michael was a coattail rider. “I knew Jenna would hear me say that and want to take me to the end because I was being a jerk, but it was all strategic. Michael made it possible for us to link up with certain alliances because he was the social, likable player. If anything, we rode each other’s coat tails. It was an even playing field. I have nothing but respect for Michael and only said what I said to get Jenna to take me to the end.” Michael respected this, saying that there were no hard feelings, and that Alec deserved the million because he stayed true to his alliance and did what he needed to get himself and Dan as far as possible. In closing remarks, Jenna said that the jury should respect that she was able to make it to the end without idols or making any super flashy moves, but being a good social player. “Someone who says that his best friend is a coat tail rider, truth or lie, is a bad move, and I just don’t respect how Alec sold his ally out just to get my vote.” In Alec’s closing remarks, he said that he just hoped people could see that he played both Old School in the tight alliance he made, and New School in the hustling and the idol plays. “I am sorry for anyone who felt hurt or betrayed, but I came into this merge with an immunity idol and the minority, and I went into final two having played three of them and having my best friend sitting as far as he possibly could. I think I deserve it.”

In the end, the voting turned out like this:

NEXT SEASON PREVIEW: We’ve seen lots of rivalries in the game of Survivor. Some lasted seasons long (Colby and Jerri; Phillip and Francesca), and some lasted short periods of time and fizzled out quite quick (Chris Noble and Dom, Judd and Margaret). We are going to put TEN rivalries to the test in an insane battle to see who prevails in each one. The twist of the season…REDEMPTION ISLAND is in play, and the people who are sent packing could be the ones who come back to take revenge against their rivals. It’ll surely be a fun season, so stay tuned for SURVIVOR: RIVALS!
