He said he wanted to stay over Cass because he wanted to win. Then he quit the competition, had 22 minutes to go and easily could've won...

It makes me so angry that he gave up after taking the chance away from Cass. No he shouldn't have sacrificed himself to save her if he was planning on trying, but if he was going to do what he did... he absolutely should have.
