He also tries to repair the lives and reputations of racist power holders with the use of his platform, previously negating his own past and making any previous apologies of his null and void. This is because he is trying to redeem unsavory people without addressing their rotten cores, and is also taking the role of savior when he is not a person affected by the actions of the people who he tries to redeem.
You do not get to like him or people like him and get to say you are a decent or good person. Excusing their behavior is complicitness, and therefore, just as bad.
