Australians

Nov 19, 2012 by Stearns
...so I'm talking with some Australian about cybering.  We weren't cybering, but she said she wanted to because she's a virgin and it's the best she gets.  I said it's not all it's cracked up to be, and it wears off over time...

...so anyway, I tell her about a... "condition"... of mine, and she goes on and on about universal health care and how she has a cousin who has cancer that was saved by it...

...and I said I don't support UHC because of moral hazard...

...then she says Australia is better than America because Australians are smarter.

Now look.

I'm from New York, not bumfuck South Dakota or Arkansas...

...but this Australian thinks she can yap on and on about how it's about being "smarter".

Some people don't understand the difference between book smarts and street smarts, and they really don't understand how universal health care only works as long as people have the same street smarts.  Book smarts mean nothing if people don't like each other or live the same way.

Well as much as Australians might not have diversity, America does, and it doesn't matter how much smarter Americans get.  UHC won't work here.  This isn't homogeneous Japan or Sweden or Germany, and when you look at UHC systems in Britain, Canada, France, and other multicultural countries, they are financially struggling.

I hope that Australian enjoys her cybering because at the rate UHC's going, she's never gunna find another "smart" healthy life partner to make love with.
