1. start practicing talking with sweet old ladies first
2. practice ya one liners and conversation starters in the mirror
3. get beast and confident at a hobby
4. get in with a group with others who enjoy that same hobby
5. talk about the weather with your neighbor like twice a week anymore isn't chill unless you change the topic. Avoid talking about your hobby. That's for the group not your neighbor.
6. just randomly join in conversations and talk about your hobby and gradually slide into a more less about you topic. Like who won the golds in ice fishing at the olympics
