Today was my final class for the class for the fundraiser and we gave our final presentation to the charity owners tonight. Over the course of 3 months, my 8 person class was able to raise $3,100 to donate to the charity for Honduran children. Our donation will be able to pay to run the school this couple founded in Honduras for over 1 month.
This experience has been extremely eye-opening to me in so many ways. First off, please know that you CAN do anything you can put your mind to. If you're passionate about something and you put the effort in, you can do wonders.
Also, you should always know that you can make a difference in someone's life. $3,000 might not seem like a whole lot, but that is providing hundred of children safety, food, education, and ultimately a better life.
Lastly, you never know how many loving and giving people you have around you in your life. My university is relatively small, but we were still able to get over 200 unique people to donate money to our fundraiser. I'm truly blessed to be surrounded by so many amazing people in my life.
And of course, I want to thank everyone on TG who has been supportive of me during this time and those who have even donated money to the fundraiser. I believe I raised $105 from just TG alone which was amazing. I know TG can be seen as a terrible, ruined site, but the people on here are what keep me on here. It means the world to me to know that people I haven't even met before would donate their actual money to a cause I care so deeply about.
