Since I don't want to study, I feel sharing some news that I feel really excited about and want to express it somewhere, so why not here.
Growing up I always was curious about the world and wanted to travel. My bedroom at home was always decorated with globes and knickknacks "from" other countries and it low key still is, I just didn't want to financially burden my family.
Fast forward to senior year in high school when I am touring different colleges. I was touring the college I currently attend and I remember hearing about a program where you could study abroad in London but I knew it wasn't realistic because i knew my parents wouldn't like it.
Later that summer when I got accepted into the college, I attended an overnight orientation where they hosted an activity fair. Once again, i visited the booth and got a flyer for the program I was interested in, but hid it when my dad had asked me what it was.
Last year I attended several meetings in November and January about studying abroad, and finally worked up the courage to ask my dad for his advice if I should do it. It was honestly one of the most nervous moments in my life because his input would either shatter my dream or make it possible. Thankfully he said yes and has been the most supportive figure in the process.
I then applied to the program in March and waited. Finally in September of this year, the group that applied met and we were told the guidelines. We then had to apply to be students in the abroad university.
And today I finally got the email saying I was accepted into the university, meaning I will be able to honestly fulfill a dream I have had for over a decade. After planning and preparing for this for over a two and a half years and to finally have it come true is such an amazing feeling, idk what else to say.
Also I will finally be able to meet one of my best friends Oliviaxoxo and beat her up for all the harassment and bullying she has done to me, I genuinely cannot wait.
TL;DR: It's so cheesy but honestly if you have a dream and you see an opportunity take it. Even if it takes a year or two to put it in motion, it'll be the best decision you ever make.
