scares the absolute shit out of me. I recently learned that TN is a right to carry, and that all it takes in Tennessee to get a gun license is to be over 18 years of age. You can literally go to Walmart and buy a gun, no questions asked.
I am interviewing with a ton of schools from now until August 5th, and thinking of something happening to my 1st graders sends me into a panic attack. I have to tell them every single day to never ever open the door without me checking it first. Not their fault, they have short attention spans and they don't understand this. I'm so happy and eager and I can't be because of how terrified I am about it.
Also I hope no one truly wants to arm teachers. First of all, kids can easily steal my phone, my pen, my papers, etc, without me noticing at first, they are slick. Not only that but my main concern is that I would absolutely and positively 150% give anything i had that a shooter would ask for to prevent a tragedy, and in the middle of that thought process its lose-lose. This entire thing makes me so fucking sick to my stomach that these disgusting and repulsive and vile disgusting creatures can do this to innocent fucking children that did NOTHING to them.
I fucking hate this country, like legit, I HATE America.

i asked my favorite teacher from high school years ago why she was so nice to everyone even the rude kids (and was an easy grader on tests) and she goes “you never know which one of them could have a gun in their backpack”…
vixens while im sure thats not the only reason (no matter how mad/upset/frustrated they make teachers, we sitll love them unconditonally, I find myself missing even the most difficult of the kids when i have to be away from the school) but that is something that no teacher should ever have to EVER worry about. Sad place in America.
