my dad constantly

judges my appearance literally everytime I see him, which is everyday. No matter what i come out in, he has something to say about it. He's always encouraged me to be more "girly," even though I have told him MULTIPLE TIMES that I am not that girl he wants me to be or hoped I would be. It's getting to the point of frustration and me not even wanting to see him anymore because of it. Maybe thats where all this started from.

I get wanting me to be confident enough to get into a long term relationship, and wanting me to be happy, but he knows my sensitivity and he has very subtle ways of going about it that i've picked iup on over the past years that mom died. And its only when we're REALLY angry. I spent most of my childhood with him so it explains a LOT.

My dad was born in the 40s, so I have excused most of his behaviors that are just outright WRONG and his prejudice, I just can't speak with him on it or it gets heated. Is it just his generation of all women staying home and being housewives? Im just not THAT GIRL. Idk what it will take to get it through his head when hes as stubborn as I am.

(ignore below this, just looking shit up i can come back to later and ill get the friend thing done soon too hopefully but christmas ya know)

With a Dad like this, it's never enough. With men (or women), you often feel vulnerable and worried you'll be dumped for someone else. Anxiously avoiding commitment or taking on the narcissistic role are both natural ways to keep relationships safe; it's understandable and self-protective. (But, you lose.)

The worst part is there’s nothing you can do to fix this overnight.

My in laws are COVID is like a cold people and trying to see us on Christmas. We had to tell them hell no. If y’all quarantine for 2 weeks and stick to it but they won’t. It’s hard cause they’re just so ignorant because of fb. Trying to help them find the light.
