This is a beautiful tribute to those innocent souls that were lost on that day as well as those who had to go through that tragic event. I hope that we always remember and use it, as well as other instances as reminders that change needs to happen, which unfortunately has not so far in 22 years. It should not take more mass shootings for us to realize that this type of violence needs to be stopped immediately. May the victims rest easy, they were all way to young to pass away on that fateful day. RIP ;( <3

I was wondering if you鈥檇 do this today

I was 21 in 1999, and had no idea that pretty much every kid in high school after me would be living in fear. That was such a shocking event. We generally believed it was going to be a one-off thing, like maybe the Texas Tower shooting. It wasn't just mass shootings either. Where I went to school was in the poorest neighborhood in the city. There were fights every day. The year after I left, they had their first shooting. They've had them ever since. I'm sure other schools in other cities had it come earlier, but I watched it slowly become common and then expected.

oop @ the shooters being removed from the rest in peace list this year
Sent by NicoleF,Apr 21, 2021
NicoleF, I typically have them but I decided to remove them this year as they're mentioned in the text already and I see the argument that they should not be in the same section as the victims of their violence.
