I read someone else's idea the other day for an Amazing Race game and thought it had some good ideas and I've been thinking about how to make TAR into a Tengaged game. I don't remember all the points the original poster made for the game so I'm sorry if it seems I am stealing your ideas. I'm not I came up with these on my own. TAR is a structured game so many ideas will remain the same.
Basics of the game.
1)20 people play the game. They are placed into teams based on the order they enroll in the game. The first two become the Black Team, the second two the Red Team, so on and so on.
2)Starting on day 1 there are two competitions every day. These are the Detour and the Roadblock. One team member does the Detour and the other does the Roadblock. If there is a way Randomize can make it so that the team players can choose who does which competition great, if not then it can be the first day the player on the left does the detour and the player on the right does the Roadblock. Then the next day it would switch. Either way you can't play the Detour/Roadblock on back to back days.
The Detour and Roadblock challenge scores are combined between the two team mates. The team with the highest score is safe from elimination and can use the U-Turn the next day IF it is available. The two teams with the lowest combined scores will compete the next day for elimination.
3)Starting with day 2 the Elimination challenge comes into play every day. Both players on the two teams competing in the Elimination will play the challenge. Again the scores are added together and the team with the lowest score is evicted.
4)The U-Turn also comes into play on day 2. The previous days highest scoring team will be given the option to use the U-Turn if it is available. The U-turn will be available randomly 2 times throughout the period of the game. If used, the U-Turn doesn't take effect until the day after it was used. For example, if on Day 2 the Blue Team was the highest scoring team and they were given the option to use the U-Turn on Day 3, it wouldn't take effect until day 4. Instead of making the U-Turned team re-do a challenge, the U-Turn automatically gives the team it was used on a 15% point reduction in that days competitions (not including Elimination).
5)There can be 1 non-elimination day in the game. The algo could randomly pick any day but the first and last day.
6)On the last day the final 3 teams play the final Detour/Roadblock competitions. The U-Turn could be in effect on final day. The final placing would be determined by the final day combined scores.
I know there are probably some things i didn't consider or forgot about. And there will probably be some tweaks needed but I think it could be a lot of fun.
I love amazing race. But I suggest making it just green level. Just to keep giving incentive to keep growing color levels, otherwise people who don't think they'll get to black to play stars will just stay at light green forever to play the duel and amazing race.
One thing i would change would be that the 20 people enroll and are put in random teams. That way e.g. Jerimondo and Metslover(just an example) would be able to wipe the floor with everybody.
It would also be exciting as it would be eliminating the premades.
I agree with you _maffew that pairing would suck to go against lol. I'm all for random enrollment if it is doable.
Salt, I did mail it to Randomize. So, we will see if in the 3 million or so emails he gets if he will read mine.
Minsi, that would suck if your partner went inactive. That was my main thought as to having enrollment go in order so you could watch and see who was enrolled and if you believed they would stay active.
Yeah, but if someone is likely to be inactive, that would slow the enrollment process, as no one would join until after the inactive person was paired.
i think to solve the not joining because of an inactive or 2 strong players paired. not only should it be random but it should be randomized after all 20 people join and it starts.

I do love the idea, however the possible elimination could be tweaked, because in the real show, the first place team can have a shitty day and wind up eliminated the very next leg. I don't quite know how it could be implemented, so your way may be best. Dunno, but very good job!
Yeah they can have a shitty next leg in the real game and also in this one. They could be top scorers on day 2 and be safe from elimination on day 3 but have shitty comp scores and be in the bottom 2 on day 4 and face elimination.
Yeah, I forgot to mention that didn't I. The detours and roadblocks are both randomly chosen each day. So the detour could be numbers while roadblock could be match 3. Being that it is random there is a possibility that they are the same challenge but that's not how i meant it to be.
And yes there are some duelish qualities but mainly because it has to be score based and not timed like the real TAR. However, no one in the game chooses who is in the elimination or who is evicted. The only way one team effects another is with the uturn
