My Top 100 ESC Entries- Semi 1 (96-93)

Nov 22, 2020 by SeaViper
Welcome to my working out of my 100 favorite entries from Eurovision in the last ten years. I have split the decade into three sections (2010-2012, 2013-2016, 2017-2020) each split into three Semis. I have started with 2017-2020. I then picked the top 25 from each year, making the top 100 for this semi. Then, I chose the top 33 to advance to the final. But, before I reveal who the final 100 are, I thought it'd be (Not very) fun to show the Songs that placed 34th and beyond, so good luck

#96: SuRie "Storm"
Country: United Kingdom
Year: 2018
Place: 24th

I like the chorus of this song, but it's honestly nothing special, but it will always be remembered for the stage invasion, which is sadly the most exciting part of this song. SuRie is a real performer though, and I love how she carried on despite the invasion

#95: Alexander Rybak "That's How You Write A Song"
Country: Norway
Year: 2018
Place: 15th

Some people really hate this song. For me, it does just kind of exist. It's nothing special, and honestly, 15th is really generous for this song. It probably only got that high for being an Alexander Rybak song, and if it was sung by someone else, I could see it getting Bottom 6 in the final, or even failing to qualify

#94: Anna Obobescu "Stay"
Country: Moldova
Year: 2019
Place: NQ

I do kind of like this song, but it is completely outshone by a million others. The staging was a rip off of Ukraine a couple of years ago, and I don't appreciate that, especially seeing as they used THE SAME SAND ARTIST. At least bother to get another one. Saying that the San Artist is the best part of the live

#93: Triana Park "Line"
Country: Latvia
Year: 2017
Place: NQ

The first 2017 song on this list! The lives vocals were...a choice. For me, this is one of the more overrated songs by the fan base, and I believe it did deserve the bottom half in the semi. The song itself is a bit repetitive, but not horrible, yet also not something I could keep on repeat

8 entries down, 92 to go! I'm hoping to be able to do one each day. If you think these are controversial though, you haven't seen anything yet, something in the Top 4 will definitely be a shock to most people
