1) you can do these thing you talk about if you want, but if its received negatively, then you've played the public aspect of the game badly. some people could probably get away with, most couldn't
2) there have been evident norms around tengaged that have evolved over the years that allow people to try and navigate the public game; i.e vlogs and gimmicks. anything outside these norms that have been facilitated are obviously controversial and could lead to backlash in the polls
in the end, there is no right or wrong the play stars. the winner is the winner because of the public choose who the winner is and there is nothing thats going to change that. you can try the gameplay route, go unnommed or rarely go up, but if you in the mean time have allowed someone else to play the public game to their best ability its all for naught sam_hamwich
I mean, engaging with the public is the way to go. There is a huge difference between spamming to stay (that is NOT playing the public) or being fake and hosting a gift giveaway lol. I have just been more engaging in blogs the past few weeks and making new friends in games. I have never been a popularity threat in Stars but I guess this week I've realized that me being active and nice to a lot of people I've never interacted with before has helped me.
I always put gameplay first and always try to avoid going up, but I could not control it this week. I literally worked my ass off daily to try to stay safe and it just would not work because of the massive alliance that all started picking each other off one by one.
And yes you can do all the gift giveaways and commenting chains that you want, but you make it super obvious what you’re doing and THAT is what people are warning you of.
But this whole blog ignores the reason why you struggle with playing the public game. I continue to see you complain about this but honestly you ARE working the public more and more. Your blogs are not nearly as negged as they were.
