I decided to see who in the current Top 100 is there from being good at games and who's really there from just being around forever. I ranked everyone based on how much karma they have, divided by how many days they've been on the site
DISCLAIMER: I’m not saying anyone low on this list is bad at games or anything insulting. If anything it’s a compliment really but obviously yes everyone takes breaks and there’s no perfect way to measure it easily. This is just for fun and doesn’t show everyone’s true skill level, as neither does KPG. Really no reason to get upset over it
results shown as follows
#new rank #username (current TG rank) - how much karma the user has gained daily on avergae
Can I have 1825 days deducted from my workings out for the 5 years I was offline lmao
Okay so if KPG isn’t a good enough indicator of being good at games surely working out someone’s “average placement” is better. Someone like bengalboy for example has been on this site a long time but not played many games but when he does he gets a good placement.
But you didn't address is as a "bit of entertainment" in your OP, your first line insinuates that unless you make 800k / month, you can't be a good player.
You often speak about being rational and objectively, which I entirely agree with - And objectively this makes no sense and is the least accurate system I've seen lol
Not saying KPG is great when payouts change so often, but unless you're going to count actual win %, jury votes gained %, merge % \, stars f3 % etc etc etc (which nobodys is).... then it's the best way to do it.
Although now I think of it, putting a win % or some kind of stats on your profile wouldn't be overly difficult for Rando to implement, surely?
