are you dorming or staying home

Aug 3, 2020 by Ribbons
my campus has the option of taking all online classes and staying home. or dorming and taking half online and half in-person classes.
everyone who enters the campus has to take a covid test anyway so it seems safe.
are you guys in a similar situation and what are you/what would you choose?

I am still moving into my townhouse even though all but 1 of my classes moved to virtual and a lot of my TA/RA duties are going to be online bc even if the university shuts down again i'll still recieve my stipendship/funding so i'll still be able to pay rent

But in all seriousness, I'm going fully online. It may suck ass, but it's better than risk killing my family with Covid.

my classes have been online before COVID happened, I actually prefer it that way, you can work at your own pace.

ribbons i'm referring to research assistant, not resident assistant not sure if that's what you meant haha. but a lot of the stuff i'll be doing is just data analysis and coding stuff which I can do on my computer at home

also just because they test for COVID, which they dont, they just take your temperature, is standard everywhere. You can have COVID for awhile without any symptoms at all, including fever....so I wouldnt call that "safe"

ShayyBayy really true, but i'd rather dorm right now, be at risk, than be at home bored out of my mind with no chance at a job

jakehou97 are you in the states? i know the first time the epidemic happened, it was illegal for anyone to kick someone from their place of residence due to missing rent. i dont think they still do that legally, but a LOT of places do it individually to help their residents! One of my roomies almost got kicked out until she pulled the receipts out of the law
