User's Music Taste (S2: Round 6 Results)

Aug 14, 2022 by Reisalin
I had a private mail asking me if I was really UsernameThatWasFree's sister. Bitch I wouldn't be suffering through this if she wasn't. Now let me paste!

Thank you everyone submitting your Glee songs. I'm sure Sue Sylvester will have a change of heart. This is by far the most difficult decision I have made in both seasons. All six of you submitted amazing songs. But there will still be one winner and will still be a bottom two.

So let's get to it.

Hisoka: Mine (Covered by Naya Rivera)
I am so fucking obsessed with this spin on it. Santana sang it from the heart and she showed a side of vulnerability that I don't think she knew she had it in her.  It was a touching tale that solidified the love her and Brittany had. Though I won't lie....I was a Brittany and Artie stan!

livnglavidaloca: Let's Have A Kiki / Turkey Lurkey Time (Covered by Sarah Jessica Parker, Chris Colfer and Lea Michele)
You take one of the gayest songs with some random jingle and it turns into a hit! What I love is the campiness that comes with it, and the fact that it's a fun party anthem. Is it the loudest submission this round? Not really. But it's still a fantastic choice.

VanitySmurf: The Boy Is Mine (Covered by Amber Riley and Naya Riley)
What I love about this song is that you have these two ladies, who have completely different spins on music, and yet they sound so unison. Course the boy they were after was a puke central....but it was nice to see their vocalization emerge. It wasn't as memorable as others, but I am glad this resurfaced. So thank you. :)

Tommy123: We Found Love (Covered by Lea Michele and Naya Rivera)
This was another submission that left my brain. But I think it's terrific. It was a key setting for what was considered a top tier proposal. Naya just sounds terrific in anything she does, and Lea.....well she was fine here lol. I just wished there was more solos than those two. Heather Morris would have killed it as well. But all in all it's good. :)

icyz: Smooth Criminal (Covered by Grant Gustin and Naya Rivera)
This was one of the tensest duets I have seen on the show. It really showcased Grant's abilities as a singer. Which is very nice. I just wished Naya had more of a role in it than back up vocals because this would have been a top 5 all time song for me. It was a nice cover on it, and shout out to the celloists who delivered!

rhayden82: Rumour Has It / Someone Like You (Covered by Amber Riley, Heather Morris and Naya Rivera)
This is the best mashup of the series in my opinion. The ladies in The Troubletones were on a whole level with their talent, and I can listen to this on repeat without being bored. The episode that brought this song was already tense as shit, and this was a perfect closer to a perfect cliffhanger. I just really appreciate this song and in it's entirety. :)

As mentioned this decision was very difficult to make. But three of you were the brightest this round.

Those three were:
#Hisoka
#icyz
#rhayden82

You three represent McKinley well, but the soloist of this round is.....

#rhayden82! Congratulations! You are the winner of this challenge. This song is top level for me, and I think it even makes Adele sweat! You earned this win!

That means #livnglavidaloca, #VanitySmurf and #Tommy123 you three had the weakest songs of this round. But one of will have another chance.

#livnglavidaloca! You have survived and will advance to the final five!

That means #VanitySmurf and #Tommy123 I am sorry to say but you two are up for elimination. As always this elimination is your last chance to stay alive in this series.

One sad trait from this show is that we had tragic passings. Cory Monteith and Naya Rivera dying just shook the fandom to the core. With death we remember the songs that those premiered and their legacy will always live on.

ELIMINATION CHALLENGE: SONGS FROM THE DEAD
Submit to me any song from any artist who has tragically passed away. Their cause of death or how well they were known is irrelevant. I just want to see good songs from those who have passed on.

The user that makes me Live, Laugh, Love will win elimination. Loser heads out of here.

You two have until tomorrow at 7 pm EST to send them. Good luck guys!
