A Memoir to Alex Trebek

Nov 8, 2020 by RedsKanto
After a long, hard-fought battle with cancer, he peacefully dies at the age of 80 today.

This man was a huge part of my childhood. Ever since I was little, I could remember watching jeopardy nonstop. He is why I grew to absolutely love trivia and how I became the nerdy little shit I am today. Ever since he asked “This is the father of modern rocket science.” And my 7 year old self shouted Robert Goddard at the TV screen, that changed me. One of my dreams was to make it onto Jeopardy! before he died, but unfortunately that won’t happen. But all I can hope for now is that someone will continue the show and live up to the great legacy he left with us trivia nerds.

While he may not of meant much to some people, he was the person who formed me for who I am today. And I can’t help but mourn the greatness he was. If it weren’t for him, I’d have no hope for the future after recent events that have happened with me.

Rest In Peace Alex Trebek. You shall go to the place where you should rightfully ascend to now.

What is Heaven.
