Heres my story: Last year I went to a fairly demanding public school, and it wasn't all that bad. In the end, I ended up getting straight A's. This year, however, I transferred schools and am currently going to probably the most academically demanding school in Cleveland and I have 4 A's and 2 B's. The school I'm going to now is so much more challenging than the school I went to last year.
But, it mostly depends on what classes you're taking. If you're just taking regular classes freshman and sophomore year, expect sophomore year to be just slightly harder and more demanding. It also depends on extracurriculars, clubs, etc. If you're planning to take advanced classes (honors, ap, etc.) your sophomore year, expect your sophomore year to be challenging.
So it just depends on your situation. It depends on school, classes, and extracurriculars.
