I have ONE problem with Angelina. However, I like her and at this point, I think she is my only hope for a female winning. I want a woman to win this season. I feel like, since game changers, men have been controlling the game. Season 35 was very much Devon and Ben dominated (and even Ryan doing Ali wrong). Last season was basically Wendell, Domenick, Chris, Michael, Kellyn, and 15 "extras" who were given 10 dollars for just appearing in the background.
And let me say one thing...I don't ONLY root for females because they are females...I think women are totally under presented in survivor, and the male counterpart to the SAME women archetype is given SOOO MUCH MORE content. Look at last season. One could argue Michael and Jenna had the SAME storyline. Both were underdogs who fought their way to mid merge. HOWEVER, Michael gets 37 confessionals or something...while Jenna gets fucking 13. We were robbed of a boss queen with a bitch stare
Back to this season. Let me get to the point. Angelina has been commenting and commenting and commenting on twitter and insta about being a strong women, a feminist, this and that. But look what shes been doing. She's been playing right into Mike and Nicks cards. Kara/Alison/Gabby were kinda together yet Angelina ASSURED they were not able to be strong. Now we are gonna see QUEENS Alison and Kara pagonged one after the next. JUST WATCH.
If Angelina was really all female empowerment...she would not enable this. I find that annoying. Like shes alll talk....but what has she done to actually initiate a females alliance? And I get it...she was the contingency plan to Alec/Kara/Alison plan...but still I feel like the game changes each vote. Angelina could make an attempt to put together some female alliance or something.
I have just been very frustrated with macho men controlling the last few seasons. Also the same nerd guy archetype being shoved down our throat. Like even Davie this season...he's so unique and his confessional are really good because he is always upbeat. Yet all we get is confessionals about Nick/Boring ass Mike (yes I do realize his edit has gone down alot)/and Christian talking about physics and calculus and shit.
And yes..I do agree this season has been much better edit wise...HOWEVER, the same stereotypical editorial proportions are still present

You can't really fault Angelina for not wanting to work with the people who used her as a backup plan a few tribals ago, like Kara literally wrote her name down and Alison has been openly shading her the entire merge. At the end of the day she has to do what is best for her game and if that is working with men (which there were 8 men to 5 woman come merge, so the numbers are already biased towards the men), and still be about female empowerment.
Even if there was a theoretical girls alliance between Gabby/Alison/Kara/Angelina, she would likely be on the bottom of the totem pole with Gabby which would not be smart for her game, whereas there are more angles to work for her with Nick/Mike/Davie, and you can't expect somebody to give up a chance at a million dollars just so a girl is guaranteed a win, even if said person would rather a girl win.
Imo it seems like you are more frustrated with the portrayal and performance of woman on the show rather than Angelina herself tho, which is more understandable.
I mean I agree with everything you are saying. However I'm talking about her on social media. I have not seen this "feminist" character that she wants us to see other than what the editors have forced into the narrative. It's all talk. Not actions.
