It's ok that they were racist/transphobic/etc. like a YEAR ago as if they can grow that much in a year.
Like you were a grown ass adult being racist less than a year ago, in 2020 - your character couldn't have changed that much.
my fave is when them growing over the years is going from saying slurs everytime they get mad to just committing microaggressions everytime they're inconvenience... like wow good progress!!
