I’m not at all mad that o personally didn’t get in btw but I definitely don’t want to be in the position I was last Saturday again where I was building up and then.. nothing 😂 so I wanna spill the anonymous TEA, and honestly if you have more to add, PM me 🙂 Things are so different btw from when I was in the first ever BSG Newbie Stars in May 2009.
Soo, once you have applied for a special stars:
• If you have been shortlisted, you’ll be asked to do a Skype interview with one or two organisers. This’ll help determine the cast.
• You’ll receive an offer if you have successfully made the cast, probably via mails. You can accept or decline, there will be reserves.
• There may be more stages. You can ask!
I did apply but I had none of these so I was nowhere near successful. I think I’d rather have known if I’m honest. 🙂 #stars but yes if you didn’t hear, it’s not you this time but so keep applying for others! 😊
Mods? PLEASE TELL PEOPLE IF THEY WERE NOT TALKED TO, NOT SUCCESSFUL AND NOT CONSIDERED, or I will expose you every damn special stars I’m eligible for 😊

Oh TP I guess we were in the same boat of getting nothing... but they were right not to cast us. We’d have been boring AF
BSG V was handled quite poorly from what I remember. We all went through the polls and stuff but then there were still about 32 of us, so then we were all added to a Skype chat together and were told that the organizers would select between us. Then 16 of us were put in a new Skype chat and told we were selected based on....?????, and oh by the way this is also duo stars and we'll tell you your random partner. It was such a mess! Am I remembering this right Brandonator
No one knew if they were in or not! Everyone that was shortlisted was told to be on at enrollment to see if they had gotten in. This prevented pregaming. Yes for some people, it made them bitter and angry but it’s better than people pregaming 3-4 days ahead of time.
As far as you not being considered, you were definitely considered! One thing that came up as to why you may have not gotten in was you had JUST played a stars AND didn’t do too well in it. Whereas there were other “old school” players who hadn’t played in awhile and would give a “fresher” appearance. You are definitely an all-star player though!
I think there definitely can be a refined approach, but we felt like the way that it had been done was the best way in order to avoid pre-gaming. If we announce the cast right away, it essentially means the game starts as soon as things are announced. Maybe in the future we can announce it a few hours before, or something, but I liked the reveal that was Stars enrollment last week, although there were a lot of people who were angry and let down.
I considered sending at least one round of rejections, but it was definitely a learning experience. I think we can definitely figure out what worked and what didn't for next time, we'll def take some opportunity for feedback when the game ends :)
princessteepee I get that. But if we had told people they did not get shortlisted or in the game ahead of time then those people would’ve told the blogs page and their friends on Skype and then the real cast could have been deducted from it
