i got hit one time biking but it was a very minor hit thankfully.
but ever since then i always make sure cars approaching a traffic light completely stop even if its my right of way. ptsd.
Oh that sucks. I literally don't use a zebra crossing until the car has fully stopped now either although it's our right to. A woman we knew got in the way of drag racing and was tossed into the air and passed away, it's so dangerous on the roads.

I was halfway through walking across the road when the guy suddenly decided to attempt to go forward, I recoiled in horror! He’d previously stopped!

That is scary. I am glad that you are alright. People here are horrible drivers too. I see people always running red lights and driving crazy all the time. Or they cut in front of other cars and just don't pay attention. I have been in 6 car accidents so far in my life. 2 of them were when I was a little girl. and the other 4 were all in the last 10 years. Luckily i never got hurt in any of the accidents. But i get tired of people hitting my car so much. The accidents were never my fault either.
