Survivor S39 Power Rankings (Top 8)

We’re at an interesting point in the game where one of three things can happen: One: everyone can unanimously take out Karishma. Two: past Vokai could take out one of the Lairo’s, since there are 5 Vokai and only three Lairo, which includes Karishma, Dean, and Elaine. Three: The Vokais implode, resulting in splitting up one of the alliances of Tommy/Lauren or Janet/Dan. All of these are possibilities, and the only people I can see coming out of it purely safe are Tommy and Noura. Noura because she’s not really much of a threat beyond immunity wins, and doesn’t seem to be annoying people any more like Karishma is. Tommy because he has Lauren as a shield, and after Lauren played an idol for herself, she looks way more threatening than him. Strategy aside, we’re getting a family visit and that should bring tears aplenty. Looking forward to it, and seeing whatever wacky relative Noura has.

8. Elaine Stott- Elaine hasn’t really been made a target yet, because she’s in everyone’s good graces. The thing is, the family visit will surely be emotional for Elaine, and will remind people of how big a threat she really is if she makes it to the end. Now that the original Lairo’s are just down to Elaine, Dean, and Karishma, there’s a chance the previous Vokai members take her out, because Karishma and Dean are easier to beat. The only saving grace is that Elaine didn’t make a massive idol play last week, so maybe people aren’t as threatened by her. They should be, as her getting to the end is a guaranteed million. I think we’ll see her taken out before the finale, either this week or next.

7. Karishma Patel- Karishma made a huge move and did a great job keeping herself safe. I just worry that she’ll just be unanimously voted off again if she doesn’t find an idol. I just think it’s too predictable, which is why I think she’ll end up being safe, but there’s no telling. She’s a threat now, and love her or hate her, you have to applaud her for being the only person to correctly save themselves with an idol (Dean technically did to, but Kellee had to hand that idol to him).

6. Dean Kowalski- Dean would’ve been making an amazing move had his Legacy Advantage been real, but since it isn’t, he’s just going to look even sillier at final 6 when he plays it for himself. And if he gets votes then, he’ll go home. He should’ve been watching Jamal‘s face to see if he was playing him... I think Dean is safe until final 6 at least, so he can make the move and realize that his “real” legacy advantage is also fake.

5. Janet Carbin- SUPER MOM got a vote from Karishma, and had it not been for Dan voting for Elizabeth, Janet would’ve gone home with one vote. That would’ve broken my heart and I’m glad she’s still around. I think her target level has gone down, but the fact that she’s still getting votes means that she’s still on the radar in some facet, which scares me.

4. Lauren Beck- Lauren and Tommy are running the show, and Lauren is being the much flashier player of the two. Should they target the pair, she’s the much more obvious target. She just played an idol (not wasted, because she had no idea where Karishma’s vote was going), and now she’s empty pocketed. She seems to have great social relationships, which is why I think she’ll be okay, just not as safe as the top three.

3. Dan Spilo- Dan seems to be safe. There’s no reason to get rid of him right now. He seems to have a tight alliance with the majority.

2. Noura Salman- Noura won immunity and proceeded to stay up there to try to win her tribe more time to eat. She’s a genuinely kind person, as crazy as she may be. She hasn’t built a strategic resume to win yet, but she sure is creating better social bonds, and should she end up in a final three with say Karishma and Dan, she may be the one who gets the jury’s respect. If it’s not Janet, I think I want it to be Noura. Never thought I’d say that.

1. Tommy Sheehan- I don’t think Tommy is in any danger this week. He’s got Lauren doing a lot of his dirty work and emerging as much bigger threat than he is. He’s likable and shouldn’t be booted unless some plans go awry or some idols get played.

I think Elaine is bound to go home at some point, because people would be crazy to take someone that likable to the final. The question is when they’ll take her out. I have a gut feeling it’ll be sooner rather than later.
