Survivor S39 Power Rankings (Top 15)

Oct 28, 2019 by PowerRankings101
imageAs predicted two weeks ago, and in spot 15 this past week, Tom was vulnerable and was sent home. Watching the episode, they didn’t really show much as to WHY Tom went home, except for Janet’s short confessional about Tom, though I think this was probably a good move, as Tom does have bonds across the way, whereas Karishma and Dean don’t as much. Do I think they’ll lose challenges continuously now? Yes. But more swaps happen, and a merge could come in the next few episodes, so I really don’t think Kellee, Janet, Jamal, Jack, and Noura cared that Karishma was staying, as they’ll just vote out Dean and Karishma if they go to tribal. Or WILL they? Let’s rank…oh wait, I forgot to mention, this ranking was sponsored by Applebees! Okay, moving along.

15. Noura Salman- It would be way too easy for Kellee, Janet, Jamal, Jack, and Noura to just vote out Dean or Karishma right? Noura looks like she may want to shake things up. But who is Noura going to target? Jamal? Has an idol. Kellee? Has an idol. Janet? Tight with Kellee. Jack? Tight with Jamal. Maybe Noura ought to rethink stirring the pot, or she’ll be the one going home. Unfortunately, I have to put her at the bottom again for this reason. I just think it’s too easy to boot Karishma or Dean, and I could totally see Noura being the blindside boot.

14. Karishma Patel- Karishma is doing something right, because she has been safe for three tribal councils in a row now where she got votes. The bad news for Karishma is that luck sometimes runs out. Think about Natalie Cole from David vs. Goliath. There was just a point where the tribe was too sick of her and got rid of her. Karishma may not annoy people the way Natalie did, but her consistent challenge performance may finally drive her tribe up a wall. She may be out soon if her tribe keeps losing and the options run out. But then again, it would be too obvious, and Survivor has started to become more and more unpredictable.

13. Elaine Stott- If this new Vokai tribe somehow loses (I mean, how STACKED are they?), I think Elaine goes home. The thing is, there are four previous Vokai and four previous Lairo. Missy has been saying that Lairo is dead, and she’s ready to flip. I think Aaron would flip. I could definitely see Elizabeth siding with Missy too. Elaine seems to be the odd one out, and it may just get her sent home. Also, the fact that she was saying how lucky she was after the swap just seems to be way too foreshadowing of it backfiring. I’m worried for Elaine this week, but I’m keeping her away from the bottom two because I don’t think her tribe will lose.

12. Dean Kowalski- Dean seems to be the man on the outs. But the thing is, we saw a LOT of him and Kellee bonding. Considering I think Kellee is one of the major threats to win the whole things (if not, THE biggest contender), I think it’s important that we’re seeing her and Dean form a mini-alliance. I think it’ll come into play soon. I think it’ll also keep him safe.

11. Elizabeth Beisel- If Aaron and Missy flip on old Lairo, where does that leave Elizabeth? I assume she’ll vote with them, but we didn’t see much of her this previous week. If this tribe somehow loses and Aaron feels more inclined to somehow keep Elaine, maybe we see Elizabeth get the boot. But I highly doubt things will play out that way.

10. Missy Byrd- Missy lucked out at the swap. Had she been on a tribe with Dean, she may have been seen with a much bigger target on her back. But Elizabeth and Aaron both seem to like Missy a lot, which is why I think Missy will skate by. But she has to make sure she tones it down a bit. She could’ve been much cooler with Dean, but seemed very standoffish, and needs to make sure to play it cool if she makes a big move again.

9. Jamal Shipman- Jamal has an idol, so of course he could use it if he feels danger. But I think Jamal lucked out in this tribe swap. There are still 2 more Lairo to pick off in Karishma and Dean, and if the Vokai members decide to flip on themselves (which could VERY well happen), it’ll be Noura first. He also has his buddy Jack on his tribe, so I think Jamal is safe for the time being, even if his target isn’t completely gone.

8. Aaron Meredith- Aaron actually seems to be in a really great position. He seemed to bond pretty well with Tommy, and I think this will be his key to the merge. If anyone from the old Lairo flips, it’ll be him and Missy, but he has the added bonus of Tommy having his back. And even if this tribe miraculously loses over and over again, I think Missy is higher in the pecking order than Aaron. I think he is finally seeing the game go his way, and it’s nice to see him bring up his son this episode as well.

7. Jack Nichting- Jack seems fine on his tribe. He had an emotional moment when he and Janet listened to Karishma’s story, he seems to be Jamal’s right hand man, and he’s the best one in challenges on his tribe. He’s golden.

6. Janet Carbin- SUPER MOM seemed to be the one to spearhead the Tom boot. She also has lots of numbers on her side, and even if someone flips, it seems that Jamal, Jack, and Noura are more on the outs than she is. Good for her for also having that emotional moment with Jack and Karishma. She’s playing a primarily social game, which will get her far.

5. Dan Spilo- Dan can’t win at this point. He’s had a negative edit up till now, and he was nearly invisible this past week. But I think the fact that he was pretty under the radar last week gives Dan a bit more longevity in the game. None of the Vokai members on Vokai (Tommy, Lauren, Jason, and Dan) seem to want to flip on themselves, so I honestly think all four of them are in the safest possible position this week.

4. Jason Linden- Jason seems to have made a fully 180 and is now in the good graces with all of Vokai. Not having Noura on his side has allowed him to blend in even more. He’s fine this week.

3. Lauren Beck- Like I said with Dan and Jason, I think all of the previous Vokai on Vokai are safe. They have control of the tribe, and don’t have anyone like Jamal or Noura who have intentions to flip on any of the Vokai members.

2. Tommy Sheehan- Tommy has Lauren, Dan, and Jason in his back pocket. Oh yeah, and he has a new ally in Aaron. He’s aware he’s a threat, and he’s doing the best job to keep himself safe while not sticking out as a threat. Oh, and he gets bonus points for being the most enthusiastic about the Applebees reward. Applebees ought to pay him some money for marketing.

1. Kellee Kim- This is the last time Kellee can play the idol, so she has the greatest chance of being safe. Obviously, we’ve seen two people (Vince and Chelsea) voted out with their idols, but considering Kellee’s expires at her next tribal, it’s a no brainer that she will play it, even if she doesn’t have to. It may put a small target on her back, so keeping it (while risky given the track record this season) could end up working out for her, and give her a pretty cool fake idol to fool someone else. Or she can whip it out at the final tribal and say “hey look at this souvenir I didn’t have to use.” I see Kellee going really deep in this game, and whether she plays the idol or not, I see her skating by this week with a newfound ally of Dean, and lots of old Vokai members on her side.

I think Tommy, Lauren, Jason, and Dan will be able to sway Aaron (and with Aaron, Missy) if Vokai loses. So in that case, I think Elaine goes. But I just don’t see them losing. I see Lairo losing, and Kellee and Dean’s relationship meaning bad news for Karishma. But somehow, I see Noura trying to stir things up, maybe Jamal or Kellee play idols, and Noura ends up getting blindsided because of it all.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- Noura Salman
