Fred… oh Fred. I’m so sad to see Fred go, and now that we’re down to nine, with the biggest front runner out, it’s going to be harder to foresee who our finalists will be and who will go next. But rank we must.
9. Subha Ramiah- Subha is so hit or miss, it’s impossible to put him any higher than the bottom. I think he’s overstayed his welcome at this point, and while I keep being proved wrong, I can’t imagine putting anyone lower than him in terms of the overall placement for this season. I’ve been wrong before, but I think his steam has run out.
8. Shari Mukherjee- Shari led her team, and it didn’t work out well. She was able to save her life in the cooking elimination challenge, but I think this definitely struck her confidence a bit. I hope she can bounce back, but if week one Shari comes back, then she might be going home before final 8.
7. Bri Baker- Bri can’t really catch a break, but at least this week, her cook on her food wasn’t the problem, just the lack of an ingredient. I think Bri is still the plating queen, and the judges want to keep her around. The Three Strikes thing I said last time seems to be false, because she’s had plenty of strikes and hangs around. Maybe she’s a cat with nine lives.
6. Nick DiGiovanni- Nick is trying too hard, and I think he’s finally realized it. Enough of the molecular biology hullabaloo, just COOK. He’s a great cook, and will stay around. He needs to just remember why he’s there. Not because he experiments, but because his core skills are really good. Risks can be made without brown butter dust.
5. Noah Sims- Noah did really well this week, so I gotta give him a pat on the back. Still a bit too cocky, but a contender nonetheless.
4. Jamie Hough- Jamie made a few mistakes, but still seems to be the guy people want to go to in these team challenges. He seems to know what’s up, and has yet to have a huge blunder.
3. Sarah Faherty- Sarah cooking that chicken? An absolute monster. In the best way. She has been doing so well recently, and I’m a big fan of my pre-season winner pick.
2. Dorian Hunter- Dorian was on a winning team for once. She’s improving, and becoming the front runner and I can’t wait to see her make it even further.
1. Micah Yaroch- Micah was team captain, excelled, and had to make a tough decision. He’s a bold risk taker and while I think he could’ve used an opportunity to get someone like Sarah or Jamie in the elimination challenge, he maintained his integrity and earned some respect. He earns the top spot this week.
Dorian, Sarah, Jamie, and Micah seem to be the biggest threats, followed by Noah and Nick, and then you have Bri and Shari who are hit or miss, and Subha who is more miss than hit. But all have attributes. And I’d be fine with any of them making a run for the win. With Fred gone, it may be anyone’s game.
Birks4444 I just remember early on how many criticisms she got for cooking Indian food and how she wasn't really doing it well. Since she abandoned the Indian route, she's done much better, but I thought she took a step back after leading her team, because I don't think she was as strong as she could've been as a leader
