Survivor S38 Power Rankings (Top 6 + 10 EI)

May 5, 2019 by PowerRankings101
imageWell, sure enough, Rick doesn’t win immunity, but finds an idol. Similar to Ben on Heroes Healers Hustlers, Rick is now in a “immunity or die” scenario. If he doesn’t win immunity or find immunity, he’s gone. But in Survivor, nothing is always 100% predictable (except for Reem probably not winning on Extinction). Let’s rank our final 6 contestants going into the final episode before the finale. It is sure to be an exciting finish and this episode will show whether or not Rick Devens is a beast to be reckoned with, or if his luck is finally running out.

6. Aurora McCreary- Aurora finally had a big week working with Victoria and Lauren to execute a plan against Ron. My only worry is that Aurora was only being used because of her extra vote. With her extra vote, she was able to make that big move and ensure it wasn’t her going home, but in doing so, she also lost the only bit of power she had left. If Rick does lose immunity and people put all their votes on him, but he has an idol, I think Aurora is the person that Rick votes for. I think Aurora is the most vulnerable, considering it seemed to be more of Victoria and Lauren’s move with Aurora in the backseat. With Ron gone, I just think Aurora is the biggest threat there after Rick because she is a challenge beast, so for that reason, I think Aurora’s luck finally runs out this week.

5. Rick Devens- I already said a lot about Rick. The thing with Rick is, he’s the person with the biggest edit right now, and if he was really going to go home right before the finale, I feel like Survivor wouldn’t be giving him such a big push. Then again, Christian was the big character last season, and he went out in this very position (right before the finale). It’s really tricky to see where Rick will end up, especially considering he is good in challenges and good at finding idols. I think he’s in the finale. I don’t think he’ll be able to win his way all the way to final four or final three, but I think he’ll be able to survive one more week.

4. Julie Rosenberg- Julie’s biggest ally went home. This either makes Julie an easy boot to get rid of, or someone you drag to the end. Right now, it seems like Julie’s power has run out, and she’s just going to be used in other people’s moves as a swing vote. This is not the place anyone would like to be in, but that’s how the cookie crumbled for Julie, who I expect to get third place at best.

3. Gavin Whitson- Gavin is in an odd position where he’s the only guy left to vote for if Rick wins immunity. If the girls all want to join together and vote together, Gavin could go. But Gavin has been the key to lots of votes recently. He used Aurora’s extra vote to get Ron out after he got the family visit reward from him, he also backstabbed his own best friend Eric, and then helped make Wardog’s elimination happen. Gavin has been making some solid moves, and has been generally quiet about it. I think Gavin is a bigger threat than anyone expects, and after that beautiful moment he had with his wife, I think he may have a case to win if he makes it to the end.

2. Lauren O’Connell- Lauren and Victoria made a huge move, and she has an idol going into this episode. I think Lauren is starting to take matters into her own hands. She has also mentioned in the past that her dad would be proud of her fire-making skills, so I’m thinking she’ll at least make it to the final four fire making challenge. Lauren should be safe this week.

1. Victoria Baamonde- This was Victoria’s move through and through. She’s the one who put Rick’s name out there and got the ball rolling. She used Lauren as her right hand lady, and used Aurora’s extra vote to reel in Gavin. She’s reminding me of the way Kim played in Survivor: One World, just in the sense that she has everyone on her side, and the only one she has against her is Rick Devens (Troyzan, in Kim’s case). She never seemed like the biggest threat, but she was dictating a lot of the decision making, and if she gets to the end, I think it’ll be hard to outspeak the valedictorian in a final tribal council. She may be quiet, but everyone is coming to her to make the moves, and she isn’t ever getting her own name put on the block. She gets the top spot yet again.

Rick is the number one target right now, but something tells me that he’s got one more day in him. The next biggest threat SHOULD be Victoria, but nobody seems to feel threatened by her, so it’ll probably be Aurora getting that boot unless Gavin or Julie get stray votes thrown their way.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- Aurora McCreary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And now for the EXTINCTION ISLAND rankings:

10. Julia Carter- Julia danced at tribal council. That’s about it.

9. Reem Daly- My girl Reem keeps giving some great side-eye in tribal council, and always has something to say when people come to Extinction. I don’t want to see her in the bottom spot, so I’ll keep her above Julia on my ranking. I think Reem has a really good case to come back for another season. She’s survived almost 3o-something days on an island, which is a pretty great feat for her. If she doesn’t return, she should still get some commemoration for being the longest lasting Extinction member. I”ll be rooting for her.

8. Ron Clark- Ron hasn’t won enough challenges to make me confident that he’ll return. The most recent challenge win was a team challenge with his loved one, so I can’t necessarily give him all the credit. I think his story arc is complete, and he’ll be able to just sit on the jury and cast a vote for a winner. I don’t see the winner being him.

7. David Wright- David returned to the game, made some cool moves, but I think his buddy Rick is going to have to steer the ship from now on.

6. Eric Hafemann- I forgot Eric was on this season. I thought he could potentially return because him and Gavin had unfinished business in their storyline, but Gavin has now screwed Ron too, so I guess the storyline doesn’t matter as much as I expected.

5. Aubry Bracco- Aubry can probably still win a challenge and get back, but her coming back to a tribe with Gavin and Victoria (who royally duped her), is almost as sad as the thought of her not coming back at all.

4. Kelley Wentworth- If any woman has a shot at returning, it’ll probably be Kelley, but I think Joe and Chris are far better at challenges, and Wardog oddly has the edit backing him up, where I feel Kelley’s edit is complete, and her challenge prowess is just not as strong as Joe or Chris.

3. Dan “The Wardog” DaSilva- The fact that we didn’t get ANY footage from Wardog on Extinction actually makes me think that he has a better shot of returning than most. Why? Because, Survivor may want to be featuring the people like Kelley, Joe, or Aubry before they’re gone for good, whereas, if Wardog is returning from Extinction, CBS doesn’t need to spend time giving him footage when he’s coming back in. I could be reading it completely wrong, but I think if we weren’t going to see more of Wardog, he would’ve gotten lots more footage of him interacting with Reem and Kelley at Extinction. Food for thought.

2. Chris Underwood- Looking at the group of contestants, I have to keep remembering that there will be a CHALLENGE to come back, and we can’t forget that Chris is REALLY good at challenges.

1. Joe Anglim- Like I said with Chris, this is all about a challenge. Joe is a challenge beast. He just has to win one challenge. I think we’re thinking about edits so much that we forget that at the core, all Joe has to do is win one challenge. That’s it.

PREDICTIONS:

Quitting- None

Staying on Extinction Island- Reem, Chris, Aubry, Joe, Eric, Julia, David, Kelley, Wardog, and Ron
