America's Got Talent: The Champions Power Rankings (Round 2)

I’m already loving this All-Star champion season, and the competition is heating up with another 10 acts, and I cannot wait to see what happens, as this one is full of even more spectacular acts! Who will join Susan Boyle and Preacher Lawson? Let’s find out.

10. Taylor Williamson- I think Taylor was one of the people I was most excited to see back, but most disappointed with at the end of the night. The jokes were fine, but didn’t land as well as someone like Preacher, or even Vicky, from last week. His dry humor is good, but in a night that seems like the Olympics of talent, his material didn’t stack up to the rest.

9. Piff the Magic Dragon- I like Piff, but tonight wasn’t his best. Piff started off strong on his season, but slowly became a bit old after a while. This time around, I felt that same boredom as the act took a while to get going. I definitely though the trick was good, not great, and his comedy was sorta smile-worthy, but not over the top hilarious. Is he talented? Hell yes. But is it Champion worthy? I don’t think so.

8. DDF Crew- It was extremely exciting and fun, but by the end of the night, I think I forgot about them. I don’t agree with Howie that it was the weakest of the night, but definitely not the strongest.

7. Ashleigh and Sully- A sad story about loss turned into a fresh new act of love, happiness, and partnership. It was so fun to watch. So adorable. Probably would’ve put Sara & Hero from last week a tad higher than them, but for a dog act, it hit the spot.

6. Light Balance- It was tough going up against Darci again, because her act is always going to outshine them. But this was still an impressive performance, as I love seeing acts like this each year, but in comparison with Darci, and then again other spectacles like Viktor and Deadly Games, they aren’t the standouts.

5. Deadly Games- I’ll start by saying that this was nerve-racking and had a great final payoff. But…is it a golden buzzer act? They did some extremely cool stuff, but did things I have also seen before. It was dangerous, but I just feel like there are acts that go way bigger and better, which is why I’m a bit puzzled as to why Heidi used her one buzzer on them. But we’ll see them again in the future, and I hope they up it even further from here.

4. Cristina Ramos- Definitely one of the most bizarre renditions of “Bohemian Rhapsody” I’ve ever heard. At first, I didn’t know if I was really on board, but she kicked it up to another gear, and I suddenly became such a big fan of hers. It was pretty wowing, and while I don’t know if it was necessarily the best performance of the night, or the most deserving of advancing, it was a lot of fun to watch, and super vocally impressive.

3. Viktor Kee- I think Viktor put on one of the most dazzling performances of the night. He’s obviously one of the most talent guys of the night, with the amount of precision and ability he is able to show. I think the background projections were slightly off at times, which was the only distracting element. But I do truly think he rocked it and deserves all the praise he could possibly get.

2. Darci Lynne Farmer- Darci is truly one of the best we’ve ever seen on this show. She doesn’t need to put on a big, spectacular production number, and can just stand there with her puppet and create some magic. It was a great performance, upped by the fact that Darci actually sang alongside her puppet. A great way to kick off the night.

1. Courtney Hadwin- I agree with Simon completely…this was Courtney’s best performance ever. She was hit or miss in her season, but she came to compete and absolutely knocked it out of the park tonight. To be completely honest, it was probably my favorite of the night. And then she told everyone it was an original….yeah, this kid is a champion. Best of the night.

I think past “fan favorites” like Piff and Taylor missed their chance big time, but surprises like Cristina Ramos and Deadly Games will keep this season quite exciting. I would’ve loved to see Courtney, Darci, or Viktor make it in as that second spot, but hopefully one of the two very talented young ladies will get America’s wild card.
