Dancing With The Stars S27 Power Rankings (Round 10)

Nov 15, 2018 by PowerRankings101
imageJuan Pablo broke my heart. It’s a damn shame we won’t see him in the finals. But Joe is gone, so there’s some justice there. Let’s just say, Bobby better be bluffing us all, otherwise, I will be incredibly pissed that someone like Juan Pablo lost his spot to Mr. Bones. Regardless, here are the rankings of today.

12. Joe Amabile and Jenna Johnson (1st Dance)- I’m impressed about Joe’s fluidity. But he only really took 17 steps. It seemed lacking, and while it was solid for Joe’s standards, in the grand scheme of things, it disappointed. Why Carrie Ann scored this higher than Bobby’s first dance, I’m quite puzzled.

11. Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess (1st Dance)- Bobby has overstayed his welcome by a lot, but it’s obvious that he’s just here to have fun at this point. The salsa material was incredibly lacking, so it’s hard to judge this as anything more than entertainment. Entertaining, sure. But still a hot mess. It’s a shame he’s still in the finals.

10. Joe Amabile and Jenna Johnson (2nd Dance)- Joe finally showed up and did something that barely supplied cringes. I think Joe danced with some true confidence. It was cleaner than usual, less stiff than usual, and way more steps than his first dance. I’m proud that Joe was able to redeem himself from the first quickstep. Going out on a high note.

9. Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess (2nd Dance)- Bobby can…dance? That’s right. This was by far his best, and I think Len really gave him a push he needed to improve. It doesn’t rank close to any of the top four dance pairs on this list, but this was a personal best for him and I’d be happy to see it if he was eliminated. But it stings a bit that he stayed around over Juan Pablo.

8. Milo Manheim and Witney Carson (2nd Dance)- Milo took a bit of a step backward tonight. His first routine was great, but not on par with the ones that got 10s. This one just seemed a bit too easy. It seemed like this was week 1-3 Milo material, not semifinals Milo. It was a lot of fun, but not very impressive, and I hope he can make a big turn-around in the finals because he is one of my favorites and has given some of the best routines of the season.

7. Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe (2nd Dance)- Evanna has certainly grown in the past eight weeks. I don’t think this was nearly as good as her first routine, but I do think she has so much grace and charm in every dance she has done. It seemed a bit rushed, but that could have been because of the band. I also had a small issue with how the singers sounded singing one of my favorite songs from “The Greatest Showman,” which took me out of it a bit. All of my nitpicks aside, this was great.

6. Milo Manheim and Witney Carson (1st Dance)- I think Milo did a solid job. I think the emotional weight of the other three 1st round dances of Alexis’, Evanna’s, and Juan Pablo’s was a bit greater than his….HOWEVER, it’s clear he’s still 100% dedicated to the steps and the movements. He’s in it to win it, and while he didn’t score a 10 here, it was something to applaud and admire.

5. Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten (1st Dance)- Sure, maybe there was a lift. Sure, there wasn’t a ton of waltz content. But this was absolutely beautiful. The connection that Alexis and Alan have made is incredible and amped this dance up to another level. It was oozing with passion and delivered in every way I wanted.

4. Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten (2nd Dance)- The costumes on DWTS are usually pretty excellent, but wow did these suits really mess with the cameras. The dance, glittery glam aside, was full of fun, life, and some of Alexis and Alan’s best of the season. Amazing.

3. Juan Pablo Di Pace and Cheryl Burke (2nd Dance)- This was more fun than the first dance, but not as technically advanced as the tango. All that being said, they were still leagues above most of the others. So Juan Pablo, well freaking done. It’s a shame he went home as soon as he did. I am at a loss for words.

2. Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe (1st Dance)- I lost a dear friend to ALS. He was a singer, and I always strived to match his talent and professionalism. I remember singing to him at a fundraiser concert celebrating his life, the last time I saw him. I know exactly what Evanna’s going through, having never truly said goodbye but wanting to honor a legacy. And for that, I thank her and applaud her. This was just magnificent.

1. Juan Pablo Di Pace and Cheryl Burke (1st Dance)- This was fan-TAS-tic. Simple in theme, but incredibly detailed in technique. Some of the best tango dancing I’ve seen on the show. Getting three perfect scores in a row probably would have given Juan Pablo the big push to become the front runner, but this elimination may even be more shocking than Tinashe’s earlier in the competition. It makes the road clearer for Alexis, Evanna, or Milo, but it’s just such a shame that the man who had a perfect night isn’t going to dance for the mirror ball. Giving him the top spot for justice.

I am pissed, but I was also pissed when Tinashe went home, then Mary Lou…So I should’ve seen this coming. At least Joe isn’t there any more (though I’d honestly root for him over Bobby Bones). If Bobby is anywhere near the top three, I’m going to scream. Right now, I’d be happy with anyone winning. These have been my three favorites, and I can’t wait to see it play out. I’m not sure if we’re getting a two part finale or not, so I guess I’ll make finale predictions now and can still do a ranking next week of freestyles and such if not. Right now, I think it’s between Evanna & Milo (I’d love to throw Alexis in there, but she was in the bottom five in round two and the others weren’t). Milo hasn’t been in jeopardy in the entire season. Plus, the audiences went crazy for Jordan Fisher a few seasons ago, so I think they’d be willing to vote for the Disney star again. Then again, Evanna has the Potter crowd. I think it’ll be incredibly close. Going with my gut, and I think I’m predicting Keo to win his first mirror ball ever.

PREDICTION:

Winner- Evanna Lynch & Keo Motsepe

Second Place- Milo Manheim and Witney Carson

Third Place- Alexis Ren & Alan Bersten

Fourth Place- Bobby Bones & Sharna Burgess
