Survivor S37 Power Rankings (Top 12)

imageThis merge episode was exhilarating. Not only was the immunity challenge pretty cool, but Angelina was exposed as sneaky to her Goliaths, a “Strike Force” alliance of 6 was formed, and Elizabeth was sent home unanimously after Gabby thought up of a plan to call out Angelina at tribal. I will get into the brilliant gameplay from Gabby, and how I think a man with two idols will be the next to go. Let’s rank our top 12.

12. Dan Rengering- This is one of my boldest predictions I’ve ever made…ever. But, I think Dan could end up getting voted out this week. Let’s recap…Dan is back with Kara, he got rid of Elizabeth who was targeting him, and he has two idols. But here’s the thing….aside from the blatant commercial claiming “NO ONE IS SAFE,” Dan is incredibly vulnerable. People know he has an idol, so they have the upper hand. Also, Kara knows about his second one, and though she won’t flip on him, somebody may try to get that info out of her. I have a feeling this Strike Force alliance of six will try to target Dan soon, and if they do, they’re probably going to split the votes with either Kara or John. If Dan plays both his idols, and plays one for him and one for Kara, they should both be safe, right? WRONG. Because, Carl has an idol nullifier. This brings us back to why it’s so crucial that idols remains secret. Davie has an idol, and nobody knows. Dan has two, and lots of people know. This is probably going to happen soon, and this could be Carl’s time to make his move, and for the Strike Force to strike. I’m making the bold prediction that the man with two idols will have his game cut short.

11. Angelina Keeley- Dan could very well be safe, Carl could pass on his nullifier, and the Goliaths could flip on Angelina. That seems like the safer move. While people now know that Angelina is sneaky, they could also use her as a goat to the end. It’s obvious that they can control her after they shot her plan to boot Christian down. They should be able to control her further, and I don’t think the Goliaths are particularly scared of her.

10. Carl Boudreaux- So the Strike Force (Mike, Nick, Alec, Alison, Gabby, Christian) have a plan to get one more David out before targeting Goliaths. This leaves Carl and Davie as their only choices. But Davie has an idol, which means Carl will probably be a target this week. The only thing making me believe that he is safe is the fact that he has an idol negator, and we have yet to see the move. This is also why I think the move is coming this week. Should be interesting.

9. Kara Kay- Kara seems to be safe, since Dan has extra safety with those idols. He’ll give one to Kara if he feels the danger. If Carl somehow thinks Kara is a bigger threat, he could negate an idol for her, but I think Dan will always be targeted before Kara is.

8. John Hennigan- John is the biggest guy out there, which I think could always keep him on people’s radars. I think his side is being set up to be shockingly blindsided, but I see Dan as the most prone to a blindside above anyone else. Everyone wants to be around John, and that’s what’s going for his game right now.

7. Davie Rickenbacker- He’s not in a majority alliance (or any alliance for that matter?), but he has an idol. He’ll need to be wise when it comes to using it.

6. Christian Hubicki- Christian’s new formed alliance is going to keep him around, but his name is becoming more and more of a target. I don’t think Christian will necessarily make it to the end, but he will make it far because people know they can get him out later. There are bigger fish to fry despite Christian being the most likable, smart fish in the pond.

5. Alec Merlino- Alec orchestrated this beautiful Strike Force alliance. I love the idea of the underdogs teaming up against top dogs like John, Dan, Angelina, and Kara. But the thing is, Alec is very present in all the move making, and the Goliaths may feel betrayed most by him. Regardless, he has a pretty strong brigade on his side, and if the six of them stay together, they may be unstoppable.

4. Mike White- Mike feels pretty safe, but I do think Nick is tighter with Christian than he is with Mike. Mike could feel left out toward the end, but right now, there’s literally no reason to get rid of Mike, especially since it’s clear he can’t win a challenge.

3. Alison Raybould- Alison won an immunity! Good for her. I think Alison’s game is becoming clearer and clearer. She hasn’t made any huge moves yet, but she is definitely planning for it. She wants to make the right move at the right time, and I like how this season is shaping up for her. I think we’re gonna see some exciting content from Alison.

2. Nick Wilson- Out of the whole entire Strike Force alliance, Nick seems to be the least likely to be targeted by the other side. He has Christian and Mike to hide behind, and Alison and Alec will end up having the burden of flipping on the Goliaths. This leaves him and Gabby to squeeze their way to the end, and I could easily see the two of them remaining high on these rankings till finale night.

1. Gabby Pascuzzi- Gabby made such a subtle move this week, but such a brilliant one. Here’s a breakdown. So Angelina is trying to get a jury vote and warn Elizabeth about her elimination. Elizabeth knows its b.s., but instead of dropping it, Gabby says “hey Elizabeth, you should bring it up and expose it at tribal.” Gabby obviously knows that everyone is still voting out Elizabeth, but simultaneously thinking “if Angelina isn’t getting the jury vote, I sure as hell want to.” Elizabeth exposed Angelina, and now most of the Goliaths can see how ridiculous Angelina is, and Elizabeth also gets some heat for exposing her. But no-one even notices that it was Gabby’s idea in the first place to bring it up! Then, Gabby chimes in at tribal with some tears to make Angelina’s comments look even worse. I think Gabby is aware of what she is doing out there, and is doing it all so secretly and successfully. Now, she probably has Elizabeth’s vote for sticking up to her, and her plan exposed Angelina as a threat without directly coming from her mouth. Gabby was great this week.

So I know I wrote a ton about Gabby and a ton about Dan. I think Gabby is finally clicking as a Survivor player, while I think Dan’s game is slowly derailing. I’m going to be bold and say that Dan gets blindsided this week in one power move involving idols, idol negators, and lots of shocked faces.
