Dancing With The Stars S27 Power Rankings (Round 8)

Nov 1, 2018 by PowerRankings101
imageFive women have been sent home now, and Bobby, Joe, DeMarcus, and John are all still around??? In what world does that make sense? Anyway, Mary Lou…you were a gem, even if this most recent dance was rough. Let’s rank the spooky Halloween dances.

9. John Schneider and Emma Slater- This routine was sloppy from start to finish. I usually love whatever John has to offer, but this time, it felt way too disjointed and WAY too serious. For something like Beetlejuice, this was the time to show that charm that he has every week. Sad to say this may be the end for John.

8. Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess- This was a bit too creepy for me. The dancing was fine in places, but a lot of the time, it seemed like it was way too choppy. Maybe the song lent itself to that, but I wasn’t a fan of what Bobby was doing. Just not my cup of tea, I guess. Then again, when was Bobby ever my cup of tea? Also, BOO neck snap.

7. Mary Lou Retton and Sasha Farber- The dancers are there to make the stars look better, but I found myself watching Sasha more in this dance, because he was doing all of the impressive stuff. This seemed off for Mary Lou. It seemed a bit uncontrolled, and didn’t reach any sort of peak moment for me. I’m sad to see her go but she did perform in one of her weakest routines tonight.

6. Joe Amabile and Jenna Johnson- Joe finally delivered on a dance. He nailed the beginning lift. He committed to the character. He stayed mostly in time with the music. He got the footwork. I’m beyond impressed with Joe. If this was in week one or two, he’d be topping the charts. I’m proud that he finally clicked, and now he may just be on his path to bigger things. But, oof, yet another dang neck snap.

5. DeMarcus Ware and Lindsay Arnold- Aside from DeMarcus’ terrible acting in the beginning of the dance, this wasn’t all that bad. He showed some smoothness that has been lacking for some time. There’s a bit of stiffness still, but I think he makes up for it in the ability he has to lift Lindsay. The lifts are beyond impressive, and I think this was up to speed for DeMarcus. Boo neck snap, though.

4. Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten- Alexis has shown the most variety of anyone this season, and this was another example of her range. This was a bit sloppy at times, but just so so much fun. Alexis better be around next week, and if she’s even in jeopardy, I may lose it. She’s beyond talented and deserves to be there. One of the most fun of the night. Also, what was up with the band/singers/sound?

3. Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe- I am so proud of Evanna. She committed one-hundred percent to every dance step and she absolutely nailed it. Precise to the tee. Keo finally got someone he could win with, and based on the track record for the season, it looks like she’ll be the last woman standing. Let’s just hope she can clinch it. This tango was awesome.

2. Juan Pablo Di Pace and Cheryl Burke- Juan Pablo is always great. Sometimes, I even feel a bit underwhelmed because he’s SO good, he seems like a pro himself. And that’s pretty stellar. Juan Pablo has some of the best technique I’ve ever seen from a celebrity on this show, and he moves so so well. While the song choice and theme for me didn’t top what Milo & Witney did, this was still perfection.

1. Milo Manheim and Witney Carson- This was absolutely sensational. Commitment to character, precision in movements and contractions, and irresistible chemistry between Milo with Witney as well as with the music. This may be one of my favorite Halloween routines ever, and clearly the best of the season. And thank you Witney for not putting in a neck snap at the end of the routine like most others did throughout the night.

I think it’s safe to say we won’t be losing Alexis or Evanna next week, but the history has shown that the females aren’t fairing too well here. I think Joe needed a push, and finally got it. I think it’ll be between John & Emma and Bobby & Sharna. I think America is leaning towards keeping Bobby because of his “edgy” routine.

PREDICTION:

Going Home- John Schneider and Emma Slater
