Survivor S37 Power Rankings (Top 17)

Oct 16, 2018 by PowerRankings101
imageI am such a big fan of this season’s editing. For someone like Jeremy to go from a contender one episode to an utter disaster the next…this season is completely unpredictable and I love it. It’s definitely going to be interesting going into a tribe swap, where alliances will be shaken up, new alliances will emerge, and Davids and Goliaths will be forced to either join or vote each other out. Here are the pre-swap rankings (the hardest part of any season, because who KNOWS who’ll end up on a tribe with who).

17. Bi Nguyen- Bi did much better in the challenge than last week, but she got injured. People have gone on to play with an injury. But so early in the game, it’s going to be a liability no matter what tribe she ends up on. And the fact that she doesn’t have many previous alliance members to vow for her won’t be much of an asset going into a swap where relationships are everything.

16. Lyrsa Torres- Lyrsa had a huge episode 2, but was nearly invisible in episode 3. I worry that Lyrsa is going to struggle with the swap without her ally Elizabeth. If Elizabeth ends up on her tribe, they could do some serious damage. But if not, she’ll just be the biggest liability of her new tribe.

15. Mike White- Mike was smart to vote with the tribe and boot Jeremy. But without Jeremy, he really has no true ally. And going into a swap, some of the Davids may be threatened by his stardom and boot him if the numbers don’t go his way. Or he’ll blend in with the Davids. Only time will tell, but I’m worried Mike could be in danger.

14. Alison Raybould- Alison got little screen time again. I worry that this means she isn’t going to be a huge character this season. She also probably ticked off some of the Davids in that original challenge. If she ends up on a tribe with a lot of them, they could easily target her.

13. Natalia Azoqa- Natalia went with the flow, though she really wanted Natalie gone. This seems to be her only real arc on the show, and I’m worried that with Jeremy gone, Natalia might become Natalie’s number one target.

12. Alec Merlino- Alec’s challenge prowess should keep him safe through the swap. But his small edit gives me a bit of worry.

11. Carl Boudreaux- Carl is the person who needed the swap most. Nobody on his side, missing his family, cold rain. He’s had it rough. But I think a swap is what he needs to get back in the game.

10. Natalie Cole- “I am Goliath strong” was the best thing Natalie could’ve ever said at tribal council. Though I do believe Angelina swayed that vote, I think Natalie should be commended for holding her ground, trying to improve her relationships, and letting Jeremy made some ridiculous comments. She is still a weak person in challenges, so she’ll need to be in a Goliath-majority tribe in the swap. If her new tribe is mostly Goliath’s, she’ll show her loyalty and stick around. If it’s mostly Davids, the Davids will try to recruit her as a swing vote. I think this is the safest Natalie has been all season.

9. Gabby Pascuzzi- Gabby is emotional, but isn’t everyone on Survivor? I am a bit worried for her because a lot of the episode focused on Bi targeting her and Nick and Christian agreeing to throw her under the bus. But let’s be honest…is Christian really going to boot Gabby? I don’t see it happening. With a tribe swap, I hope she and Christian can stay together. If not, Gabby may end up being a target, so she remains in the middle this week.

8. Elizabeth Olsen- Elizabeth had a huge episode like Lyrsa, but went invisible for episode 3. I’m less worried for her than I am Lyrsa, because I think Elizabeth will have no problem fitting in with anyone who she ends up on a tribe with.

7. Dan Rengering- Jeremy going home was the best thing for Dan’s game. Jeremy was gung-ho about getting rid of Dan and his idol. Dan should hope to be swapped on a tribe with John, Alec, Natalia, Angelina, or his girl Kara. If he is, then he should be fine. Also, he’s got that idol.

6. Kara Kay- Kara was able to easily manipulate Dan and form a strong bond with Natalia and Angelina. She should have no trouble bonding with whoever she ends up on a tribe with.

5. Nick Wilson- Nick did the smart thing of going to Bi, Davie, and Carl and convincing them he was willing to go against Gabby. That’s smart gameplay. The only problem is that his “most loyal Mason Dixon man” Christian is also super tight with Gabby. I’m interested to see how that plays out, but right now, Nick is playing extremely well socially compared to how he started the game.

4. Christian Hubicki- Christian has Gabby, Nick, Lyrsa, Elizabeth, Davie, sorta Carl, sorta Bi. And he wants to work with the Mayor of Slamtown. Christian has lots of options. He just has to make sure he doesn’t get power hungry, and he could be a clear front-runner. The only thing that would put him lower in the ranking is if he ends up with lots of Goliaths that see him as a threat.

3. Angelina Keeley- Angelina absolutely rocked this past episode. She was the one who spearheaded the move to get rid of Jeremy, and did it without flaw. She may now be seen as a bigger threat, but the fact that she has a six-person alliance going into a swap is great for her. She’s bound to end up with at least one or two of her allies. If she keeps making big moves like this, she’ll be impossible to beat.

2. John Hennigan- Whatever tribe John ends up on, he’s the strongest member of it. He also has people like Gabby and Christian wanting to work with him on the David side. He has an alliance with Natalie. An alliance with Angelina. He’s set for the long run and I’m very pleasantly surprised with how he’s carrying himself in this game.

1. Davie Rickenbacker- Davie’s got an idol, and he isn’t willing to tell everyone about it like Dan is. He’s the safest one going into a tribe swap, and it doesn’t hurt that he’s super likable and a provider for the tribe. I’ll give him the top spot this week.

I can see this tribe swap going one of two ways. Either we lose one of the weakest challenge performers (Lyrsa, Natalie, or Bi with her knee) or we lose someone who hasn’t really been in a solid alliance (Mike, Alison, or Bi). There’s somebody who fits both those categories, and considering CBS showed us that scene with Bi’s knee after the challenge, it looks like she may be in the most danger. Ain’t that the Bee’s (Bi’s) Knees.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- Bi Nguyen
