Hell's Kitchen S18 Power Rankings (Top 15)

Oct 11, 2018 by PowerRankings101
imageWell not a ton has changed since the premiere. Jen and Trev are still the weakest vets and Scott was the weakest rookie. New leaders have emerged, and others have faltered a bit, but overall, it’s a strong bunch and I’m excited to see what else is next.

15. Jen Gavin- Jen has been a hot mess from the start. She is on a downward spiral and I can’t see her going past the next few episodes. She’s a bad energy for her team, and seems pretty lost in most of the dinner services. Why they brought her back, I’ll never know.

14. Trev McGrath- Trev is slipping into his prior antics. Not listening to directions. Being a fine chef, but not playing by the rules. It’ll come back to bite him eventually. He better watch out, because I think he’s walking on a tightrope.

13. Jose DeJesus- Jose definitely has passion, but it took him a while to get a grip when it came to the fish. I don’t know if he ever truly got a grip. I think Jose has potential to bounce back, but he’s definitely got an uphill battle ahead of him.

12. Chris Mendonca- In theory, writing things down sounds like a good idea. But in crunch time, Chris seemed to struggle and make a fool of himself. His previous injury is definitely a set back, but I don’t think he can rely on it as a crutch all season. Remember Kevin’s season? He and Dave were both severely injured. And they made it to the final two. Chris is going to have to prove himself.

11. Scotley Innis- Scotley got to do table side, so he must be in a pretty safe position. I still don’t know how to read the guy, but he seems okay.

10. “Motto” Chris Motto- I was probably wrong to rank Motto so low. When the red team lost, he clearly had a very clear voice in the team. He shared his opinions, and ended up being the one to lead some conversations. We haven’t seen a ton of praise for his cooking still, but he’s been solid in terms of screen time and team effort.

9. Ariel Fox- Kevin had mentioned that Ariel wasn’t seeming as strong as she was in her previous season, and that worries me a tad. Maybe Ariel just isn’t going to stand out with all these tough Vets around. I hope I’m wrong, but she hasn’t blown me away yet.

8. Roe DiLeo- Roe has been giving good confessionals about how the rookies stand no chance, but she really has not been featured much in anything else. I think Roe is someone that may get forgotten about and go home midway through.

7. Kanae Houston- Kanae was pretty strong in this episode. She provided some good confessionals (as always), and was the go-to when Ramsay asked for nominations. That’s always a good place to be in on your team.

6. Mia Castro- Mia had another stellar dish in the challenge. But let’s be honest, she didn’t do so hot in the dinner service. I think Chris dragged her down a bit, which is why she struggled. But she’s really going to have to prove why so many people hold her to such a high standard. Still a clear favorite on the rookies side next to Gizzy.

5. T Gregoire- T is great and always delivers in her food. She hasn’t been as prominently featured as I’d hope, but she’s a front runner for sure.

4. Bret Hauser- Bret was a big focal point of this episode. He was a bit of a chaotic mess in the dinner service, but really killed it in the risotto challenge. I think he’s still a few pegs away from the top, but I do think his heart is bigger than anyone else there, and it shows.

3. Gizzy Barton- Gizzy is surprising me more and more. Her risotto shouldn’t have been as good as it was. But she really is one of the most talented rookies. I think her attitude that she showed in the first episode isn’t really as prominent, and she’s really becoming someone to root for.

2. Heather Williams- Heather has been getting some really good content this season. She is always in the spotlight, but not overbearingly so. She got a lot about the fact that she was “so close” to the win. I think the show is setting up for her to be a true contender this season.

1. Kevin Cottle- Kevin hasn’t been on the top yet, but I’ll put him here now. He’s just consistently done well in this season, and it feels like he never took a break from last season. He’s going up and up, and until he messes up (if even), he’ll be up here by the top or at the top of these rankings.

I think each team has a tier system. For the vets, I think Heather, Kevin, Bret, and T are on the first tier, Roe and Ariel are on the second tier, and Trev and Jen are on the bottom tier. For the rookies, I think Mia and Gizzy are on the top tier, Kanae, Motto, and Scotley are on the second tier, and Chris and Jose are on the bottom tier. I think it’s clear cut that one of the four on the bottom are probably going home. I bet it’s Jen.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Home- Jen Gavin
