America's Got Talent S13 Power Rankings (Quarterfinals, Week 3)

Aug 29, 2018 by PowerRankings101
imageWell, I didn’t do so well predicting last week. I didn’t expect Voices of Hope to make it through (but I’m so glad they did) and thought Front Pictures should have made it (my favorite of the night). As for Sacred Riana, I just expected people to vote for her because she was memorable. But I am beyond glad she is gone, and have never been happier to be wrong. Moving along, here we go with Week 3 of the Quarterfinals!

12. Aaron Crow- This took forever to get going. And while it was full of anticipation and nerves, it wasn’t even performed properly. Simon’s hand stopped on the wrong bag and Crow made it obvious that he had messed up the trick by the end. Probably the most disappointing of a fairly strong night. He just didn’t step it up from last time.

11. Hans- Oh gosh. This was a mess, but it’s oddly addicting to watch. I don’t think he has a shot in hell of making it into the Semifinals, but he has potential to find a career in some sort of fashion. Oddly enough, his act gives me more hope for a Vegas show than Aaron Crow’s does.

10. The Future Kingz- I thought this was good, but based off of what we’ve seen with Junior New System and Da RepubliK (both saved by the Judge’s Save), I don’t think their dancing matches theirs. I don’t know if they’ll make it into contention for the save, especially after going first tonight. I just think their chances are slim.

9. UDI Dance- I’ll be honest, these guys have impressed me before. But coming off of Front Pictures last week, I think these guys paled in comparison. I think it’s something we’ve seen before and something that’s been done way better in the past. The storytelling was fun, but nothing mind blowing or exciting. I think they were good, but not great. And on a night like this, they need to be great.

8. Us the Duo- I think their act is really cute and heartwarming. There’s an obvious chemistry and their music is something I would listen to. However, comparing them to We Three (a similar styled and far superior band), they aren’t as good. And their song feels a little small for a big stage like this. I think they have a shot on their story and raw talent, but this was a bit forgettable by the end of the night.

7. Christina Wells- I’ve never been the biggest fan of Christina’s. And I’m still not. But she did work it in performance and passion. And for that, I have to commend her. She went for it, and I think it paid off well.

6. Rob Lake- I honestly don’t know how he does it. I think his showmanship is a bit much, but the trick itself was really great. I think the beginning of the act could have moved a bit quicker, but this was a huge step up and I think he has a great shot to go forward.

5. Brian King Joseph- Brian is truly an inspiration. HIs act is not something that I would typically go for and that I know America certainly wouldn’t get. But he seems to have won the entirety of America over with his incredible passion and heart. He’s one of the best at what he does and he’s an all around awesome guy.

4. Joseph O’Brien- Yay that Joseph went with an original. He is truly such a talented gift, and he it’s great seeing the goofy side of him in real life juxtaposed with his vulnerability in his music. The opening few seconds didn’t hook me in, but he eventually got it going and it was one of the most special vocals of the night. Based on the judges’ comments, I am not sure how good his chances are, but I enjoyed it.

3. Daniel Emmet- I am so glad Daniel got the wildcard. He truly has one of the best voices of the season. It was a bit sleepy in the beginning, but he sold me by the end, and truly brought it all in this round. Each high note was just pure and full of heart and power. I know being a wild card usually works against you (as Human Fountains and Front Pictures saw), but I do think Daniel deserves a chance. He’s amazing and had his best moment of the season tonight.

2. Michael Ketterer- Michael has a good voice, but it’s all about the heart with him. His heart bleeds through his song, and it truly is something mesmerizing to watch. His story paired with some pure vocals, and you can’t go wrong. I don’t think he’s a Vegas winner, but he will surely make it deep in this competition, as he rightfully deserves to.

1. Zurcaroh- The act was so entertaining and full of energy that it seemed like two seconds long. I wanted it to go on and on and on and on. It was absolutely exhilarating. They are phenomenal and way way way prepared for Vegas. They can and will take Vegas by storm.

I’ll start by saying that this was probably the strongest of all three Quarterfinals episodes. The only act that truly blew it was Aaron Crow, and while UDI Dance, Hans, and Future Kingz didn’t do it for me, they still showed glimmers of worthiness in advancing. That being said, I can knock those four out as four acts that I don’t think will make it through. I think the other acts will surely be the 8 in contention, with three of them up for Dunkin’ Save and five going through. We can assume that Zurcaroh and Michael Ketterer are locks for advancing while Us the Duo and Joseph O’Brien will probably be up for a Dunkin’ Save (I think Joseph is great, but the judges make me think he’s gonna be up for the save at best). Based on their performance slots in the night, I think both Rob Lake and Christina Wells are through. This leaves Daniel Emmet and Brian King Joseph. Since Daniel is the wild card, I think he’ll end up in the Dunkin’ Save too and that means Brian will advance in the top 5 (as he rightfully should). Between Us the Duo, Joseph O’Brien, and Daniel Emmet, I think voters will give Us the Duo the push they need, and the judges will probably choose Daniel. I think Daniel deserves to go through and may have trouble with votes, but I’m hoping at least the Judges Save will keep him around. Let’s see.

PREDICTIONS:

Going Through- Zurcaroh, Michael Ketterer, Rob Lake, Christina Wells, Brian King Joseph, Us the Duo, and Daniel Emmet

Eliminated- Aaron Crow, UDI Dance, Hans, Future Kingz, and Joseph O’Brien

I loved Hans!

Yeah, Rob Lake is not going through. Hate to say it. He blew a few tricks, and his magic is super hokey. I'd trade him for UDI/Hans.

zorbo678 I didn't mind Christina last night. I've never been her biggest fan, but I think she'll easily make it through, as she deserves
