I knew Chelsea was on the radar, and I assumed SJ would bounce back. Anyways, Farhan and Cesar definitely exceeded my expectations and I am ashamed I had them so low. Here we go!
10. Taylor Waltmon- Taylor was such a strong competitor early on, but has really struggled lately. She just isn’t improving like everybody else, and at the end of the day, I think she’s the most vulnerable to go home.
9. Samantha Daily- Samantha has only had one good week in the past few weeks, and it was a cupcake challenge. I’m worried Sam may be a one trick pony in desserts. She hasn’t been improving either, and if any team is going to lose someone, it’s Gordon’s and her and Taylor seem like the best bets.
8. Julia Danno- Julia has been silent lately. I have no idea why! She’s been one of the strongest but it hasn’t shown in a few weeks. I’m worried for Julia a bit.
7. Bowen Li- Bowen fails, but learns from it. His butchering of the fish was terrible, but he learned from it. Good for him.
6. Ashley Mincey- This is the second time Ashley has cut it close. But she really pulls it off at the end of the day. She’s strong in the areas where she is comfortable. Where she lacks a bit is in the technical ability, and her fish butchering was easily the worst. I’m worried she’ll be sent home on the technical things and won’t be given enough credit for her outstanding few dishes she’s had.
5. Gerron Hunt- Gerron is in a sweet spot. He needed a push, and these past few episodes have really been that push for him. He’s getting consistently better and I’m so happy for him because he is definitely the most likable of the whole bunch.
4. Shanika Patterson- Shanika is cutthroat. Unfortunately, not very good at cutting fish. But only two people really were. Her main dish was excellent, and I think she too is improving each week.
3. Farhan Momin- Farhan was amazing this week. He could have really screwed himself if his dish was too spicy, but he took direction well and learned from mistakes to win the challenge. I think Farhan is someone very underestimated (heck, I even had him in last place last week). But I really think he stands a good chance of making it deeper. He had been sleeping for a while, but I think he has awaken.
2. Cesar Cano- Cesar was one of two people who completely filleted the halibut correctly. Insane. Cesar is so good at the technical stuff, now he just has to remember that he is in a big stakes competition and not play it safe in his food. He’ll be safe.
1. Emily Hallock- Another week at the top. She is amazing and defies the odds each and every week. Even if she ever slips up, she won’t go home. She’s been too good and it’s way too soon for someone like Emily to be in any sort of danger.
Should we hand the trophy to Emily already? Is the dark horse early favorite Farhan back? And what the heck happened to Taylor? This could end up being a crazy week, because I never would’ve thought Taylor would be in so much danger. Yet…here we are.
