MasterChef S9 Power Rankings (Top 12)

Ralph was never really a top contender, but wasn’t on anyone’s radar for an elimination. A sad day in the MasterChef kitchen. We certainly got a shakeup with some favorites doing poorly and some underdogs stepping up to the plate. Let’s venture as to who will go home next? Apparently we’re losing two!

12. Farhan Momin- We have seen little to nothing from Farhan in quite some time. It’s a bit alarming, and I really don’t know where he stands. He hasn’t been on the top since week one, so if I have to place my bets on one person to go home this week, I’ll take a guess and say Farhan.

11. Cesar Cano- Cesar needs to recover and he knows it. He has put out some bad food lately. He has potential, but has not really executed what he’s hyped up and there’s going to be a point where there’s no room to hide.

10. Chelsea Sargent- Like Farhan, she’s been fairly invisible, save for a mystery box top 3 last week (though her dish didn’t look amazing). I’m going to also pin her as someone who is very vulnerable this week.

9. Taylor Waltmon- Taylor is good, but has not been great for some time. If anyone on team Gordon is in danger, it’s either her or SJ, but I predict that SJ will bounce back from this past week.

8. SJ Yun- SJ sucked this past round. Point blank. But I think he can recover, and I like SJ and hope he does.

7. Samantha Daily- Sam had a week in the spotlight then slipped away again last week. Still safe I think.

6. Julia Danno- Julia is great in teams, so she’ll be okay, but she got a near invisible edit this last episode. If someone is going to win this competition, they’re going to be visible in nearly every episode. I’m starting to think maybe Julia isn’t the front runner we thought she was a few weeks ago.

5. Bowen Li- Bowen has been consistently fine pretty much this entire time. I am not worried and think he will continue to do well if he keeps at this pace.

4. Ashley Mincey- Ashley made a cake in an unreasonably short amount of time. She may not be a long term favorite right now, but I think she earned a spot in the top five for this week’s ranking. My only worry is that if it’s another team challenge, she could be in danger. She’s had a mixed track record in team challenges.

3. Gerron Hunt- Gerron will be safe for two reasons. One: he just had an incredible episode and killed it with his savory citrus dish. Two: Joe’s team only has three people left, one of which is Emily, and one of which is the mystery box winner Shanika. I think all of Joe’s three should be safe this week. And spoiler alert, the next two people are Joe’s other team members.

2. Shanika Patterson- Shanika won the mystery box and almost got SJ out. That’s some bold gameplay and I think she’s going to continue growing from here.

1. Emily Hallock- Simply the best. She knows how to freakin’ cook, and she does it well. She’s Joe’s best member and she will likely keep his numbers alive. Shanika and Gerron are great, but she’s Joe’s best chance of winning. I was excited for her to come back and do well after Shanika tried to target her. So exciting, and definitely one to root for.

I really think Team Aaron is in the most danger. Chelsea and Farhan have been invisible and Cesar has been doing poorly for the past few rounds. I think Joe’s team is safe, and if anyone goes home on Gordon’s side it’s either Taylor or SJ. But I think I’ll take a gable and say that we lose two of Aaron’s guys.

I will say, I was expecting a team challenge so that's what this ranking is based on lol. Oh well. I was a bit off
