Food Network Star S14 Power Rankings (Top 10)

imageSo I was way wrong with multiple first impressions, but I had some of them pretty solid. But the best part of the premiere was the return of last year’s Amy AND one of my favorite all-time Food Network Star contestants Adam! If neither of them win, they will have had to screw up pretty badly. Let’s rank!

10. Katie Dixon- Poor Katie. I love Katie. But she needs to be able to take her mistakes and learn from them and fix them. She didn’t seem to do that in the past episode, and I don’t know if she’ll be able to recover. I hope she can, as she is my pre-season winner pick, but right now, she seems to be the weakest from the first showing.

9. Rebekah Lingenfelser- Poor Rebekah is so sweet, but just doesn’t seem to have the star material needed. She is great television, but she already made a big blunder in the beginning of the game, and if she recovers, she could do well. If she doesn’t, she’s doomed.

8. Jessica Tom- Jessica was hard to watch, she was so polished. That’s exactly what I expected from her. But she delivered on the food, so I think she could last a little longer in this competition.

7. Palak Patel- Palak didn’t really amaze me, but hey, you could make a really good drinking game of how many times they mention her beating Bobby Flay.

6. Christian Petroni- Christian actually had a good first episode. I’m still not a huge fan of his, but the judges and contestants both seem to love him, so maybe he is destined for the endgame.

5. Samone Lett- I love Samone and think she was hilarious in her first episode. I think she’ll be great this season, and if her food can live up to her personality, she’ll be here for a while.

4. Manny Washington- Manny was one of my favorites from this first episode out of the newbies. I think he has lots of great potential, and unless he makes a terrible blunder, I think he’ll make it very deep in this game.

3. Harrison Bader- Harrison is so precise in everything he does that I’m worried it may get boring after a while. But right now, he’s a front runner and seems to be the newbie to beat.

2. Amy Pottinger- Amy is amazing and I think she has a shot of winning. I think she did way better on Comeback Kitchen than all of last season, and if she continues to grow like this, she’ll be one to beat.

1. Adam Gertler- Adam has the most experience, but still feels current and personable enough that keeps him seasoned and fresh in the competition. He’s the one to beat, and my easy favorite in this competition.

So, the returnees are obviously the ones to beat, but Harrison, Manny, Samone, Christina, and Palak all did enough to give them a shot. I’m rooting for Katie to recover, but based on this past episode, I’m predicting her to be going home.
