While we know who won, who came in second, and who came in third, I will still rank the final three’s performances in the finale. Why not?!
6. Tonya Harding and Sasha Farber (1st Dance)- I love this song, first. Great song. The dance? Paled a little bit in comparison. It wasn’t perfect, but given how much Tonya has gone through in her life, it’s a beautiful way to end her story, and definitely finale worthy for her.
5. Adam Rippon and Jenna Johnson (Freestyle)- Dancing With The Stars always hands out perfect scores for freestyles like candy. So for Adam Rippon not to get a perfect score, I was baffled. That being said, this wasn’t a great freestyle, which is why I’m overall not surprised. It showed off Adam’s style and flare, but didn’t wow me like many of his other routines this season. Had the season’s format been different, we may not have seen Adam win, but he was the clear favorite from the start and a well deserved win it was.
4. Adam Rippon and Jenna Johnson (1st Dance)- I don’t always love routines where the dances mouth the lyrics along with the dance. That being said, this was a fun dance and definitely showcased personality above anything else. I’ve seen Adam do better, which is why I’m honestly surprised this earned perfection scores. But I still liked it a lot.
3. Josh Norman and Sharna Burgess (1st Dance)- Josh dances with such elegance, which I would’ve never said a few weeks ago. He’s probably grown the most since the beginning, and I really thought this dance was a beautiful one to end his journey with.
2. Tonya Harding and Sasha Farber (Freestyle)- Tonya went out with the biggest bang, and just had so much fun. That’s about all you can ask for in the finale. I loved it so much. My personal favorite dancer of the season, and one of the best dances of the season.
1. Josh Norman and Sharna Burgess (Freestyle)- Though Tonya was my favorite of the season, and Adam was the best dancer, this was my favorite dance! I thought it was danced with so much power, energy, strength, and passion. I really think Josh grew on my this season and became a true contender. Put him on a bigger season without athletes and I still think he places top three.
