As predicted, Chirs & Witney and Jennie & Keo were eliminated. But Mirai going home was truly a shocker. While I was rooting for Tonya anyway, I didn’t think she’d make it in over Mirai. But I am thrilled that Tonya Harding is going to be in the finals of Dancing With The Stars, alongside Josh and Adam, two incredible dancers. Here’s how I ranked the top 6’s dances.
6. Jennie Finch Daigle and Keo Motsepe- Jennie was the weakest last week, so I knew she wasn’t destined to continue on in the competition. This was definitely her best, but it still lacked the flow that the other dances showed. Another miss for Keo, but hey, he outlasted Lindsay and Emma, who won the past two mirror balls.
5. Chris Mazdzer and Witney Carson- This was pretty messy, but from an entertainment standpoint, this was enjoyable as hell. I was loving every moment of it, and I know Chris had some real potential and would love to see him on a longer season to see his potential grow.
4. Tonya Harding and Sasha Farber- Tonya was amazing tonight. It wasn’t the most perfectly danced routine, but definitely showed some of the most heart and soul. The connection to the song was there, and I loved every ounce of it.
3. Mirai Nagasu and Alan Bersten- Mirai going home is a shame, and maybe going first hurt that. I think this was another great dance for her and had me cheering the whole way through. The colors were popping and and Mirai’s personality popped even more. I was a huge fan of this, and like I said, it’s a shame this was her last.
2. Josh Norman and Sharna Burgess- I thought Josh was at the bottom of the pack going into tonight, but I think this took him close to the top. Not as perfect as Adam’s, but pretty darn close. I think he gave himself a real shot.
1. Adam Rippon and Jenna Johnson- Best dance of the season so far. Boom.
With Mirai gone, I don’t see how Adam loses this season. But I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that Tonya finishes in the top two. She’s been one of the bigger characters in Pop Culture recently and in this competition, so I think she’ll come just short.
